It's not something we eat around here. We use rice to make spanish rice (yum) and then there's the obligatory rice with Chinese take-out.

I guess it's a regional omission. I know they make rice pudding in Mexico (arroz con leche) but this isn't Mexico. Most of our dishes include squash, corn, beans, new mexico chili, etc. Rice as a dessert just seems weird to me.
