DWC - First Grow, Advice Welcomed [Grow Journal] (HQ PICS)

So one of the plants exploded but the leaves on both of them are starting to get droppy again. I figured maybe they needed nutes so I gave them that and still nothing. I then ph'ed down the water a little more to like 5.5 and still nothing. The roots are brown but not mushy so I think its just the organic nutes that I am using. The root masses look healthy and are growing very fast. Can you let me know if you have any suggestions to make them look better?

HAHAH okay i will i will. I figured I could move it back to where it was before cause they are getting bigger. Will I always have to leave that much room? they are gonna run out of room pretty quickly then.

You'll have to leave close to that much room during veg time. Some strains will build up tolerance, others won't. It's a genetics thing.

The only way to tell for sure is to watch for it and experiment. But if you're stressing, fix it quickly.

Damn dude move that light up.. I can see the stress gleaming from those curls.

I hear you on that Void... But i grow my plants with the lights about 5in. away from it, it LOVES IT!!! I personally feel the closer the better, but iv never had temp problems, reservoir temp problems, or stress problems from the light being that close..

Yeah you can get really close with CFLs.. but us HIDS users can't do that kinda sh!t because we're getting way more lumens than any kind of CFL could bring.

I have a switchable ballast: 150w, 250w, 400w, and 400W sl or something. Would it be better to be 400w and higher up or 250w and closer?

Ahhh my bad bro, I was unaware that he was usings HIDS, for some reason i just assumed he was using cfls haha. Also im glad to have you back up the fact that you are supposed to keep plants close to cfl lights.

However, do you know if you can put a plant further away from a cfl light, and the lights still be effective???? i moved my plant away from my light by an additional 10 in. last night, we will see if it changed anything when i get home.. Check it out on my thread.

I woke up at 10 this morning, and i LSTed down the plant at 11 am. Heres what she looks like now.. I will post up another picture at 5pm this evening. Check back then!!!
