What's happenin growers! Im bored so I took a few pics.. as im looking at my pics I see something on some leaves that look kind of like trichomes. Not sure tho I only see it in the pics not when I look at the plant in person. I'm in flower starting about 5 days ago and seen female preflowers 2 weeks ago.. are these possible trichs? I hope! Lol I'm getting bored lookin at the same preflowers.. thanks RIU!

I think I see what you're talking about. On the leaf. There are tiny hair like structures that could be trichomes. They look like them so....mb they are.

I tried looking at then in my 100x microscope.. I see clear dots ALL over the leaves but I still can't tell if they are trichomes.. does my microscope zoom in too much?

You only need 10x to see them clearly. I really don't know what those things are called. Mb it's where the triches will come from? I'm guessing. They aren't capitated trichomes. There's no heads on them.

Yea my scope is a bitch to look through. It gets clear but if you make the slightest move with your hand it gets all blurry and I have to adjust it.

Lol wow you got a female plant just starting to flower...I sure hope trichs start showing up. Just sit back and relax and be patient.

And don't forget your sunglasses when your staring at your plants...you seem like the stareing type.

Those are trichomes, but not what you're thinking. Trichomes are all over the plant, they look like small fine hairs covering the leaves, stems, etc, and are found on males too, but aren't unique to cannabis plants.

The glandular stalked trichomes that you are looking for, usually don't start to show up until the 3rd or 4th week of flowering. They'll form on the pistils, flower, surrounding leaves, and etc. etc. I don't care what you call them, but yeah those are trichomes, no they're not the ones you're looking for, not just yet.

If you have any binoculars you can use those instead of a magnifier, they work like a microscope if you look through them backwards. The strength depends on the strength of the binocular lenses, and using one side or the other works best because up close they won't be pointed at the same spot. Put your eye up to the lens like usual and have the end like an inch or two from the plant. You can take pictures through them this way too if you have a camera with a decent zoom.

You can buy them tons of places, and then you have binoculars and a high power magnifier, bonus ;)
