As far as watering goes, I think I'm going to fabricate a jug like Bluez with a hose attached to it to funnel my water in through the screen and directly onto the hydroton. I'll look into making something tomorrow. Any guesses on how long it will take to nearly fill my screen?

Can't tell how long but my growth is quite fast lately. 2-3 weeks is a good guestimate.

Nice my veg stage is definitely taking longer than I first anticipated, but if I can just get most of the screen covered I'll be a happy guy cause I'm sure there will be plenty of tops by that point ready to put out some nice buds. Thanks!

Time for a fresh update:

Growth is really taking off now that the nutes are being bumped up and the screen is really helping to bring out more and more tops everyday. Things have been running basically on autopilot and I will be doing another reservoir change out tomorrow where I will be bringing my nutes up to full strength as recommended by the lucas formula for the vegetative stage. Once my plant fills about 3/4 of the screen with plenty of tops, I will be switching to my blooming light cycle and nutrient mix. As of now my parameters are as follows.

PH 6.0
PPM 244 (started at 400 and has been eating like crazy)
Temp 67 F (lights out)

Hey looks great man i have been on RIU for a while im glad i see the same system like me i have a grow lab 80 new waterfarm bucket with 3 part nutes and also didgital phantom ballist with 400 watt hps upgraded bulb forgot the name i think super helix 20 % more light or something and im just curious about feeding shedule with the 3 part nut mix and wat are the whole entire feeding shedule one should follow wit these nutes is there any forms that talk about this particular for waterfarm bucket and what should i do about venting and how to set it up proper thinking of getting 4" vortex inline fan with can filter 2900 or sumthin like that i need help before stetting everything up and making my oown journal

Okay here's another update for this evening. The plant is still eating like crazy and could use more nutes so I will be bumping it up again when I change out the reservoir later this week. I also decided that I've veged long enough and switched the lighting to 12/12 to start budding. I also switched the bulb out with the HPS bulb now that I'm in the flowering stage. Yes, I know my plant hasn't filled the screen yet, but I'm anticipating some stretch and need to harvest some buds as I am all out so the sooner the better.

yeah man she will fill the screen nicely under stretch in fact i think you could have flipped her much earlier but every strain is different so it might work out. plus if you think shes a little hungry now she's going to get really hungry once stretch starts be ready.

Damn... I thought I might have waited a little too long to flip, but I must have misinterpreted SCOTTYBALLS guide saying that a 3/4 full screen will be filled with buds once flowered. I am growing a hybrid strain that has a chance at producing a more indica pheno as well as a more sativa pheno. So lets hope it's more on the indica side. If I start getting too much stretch I'll clip a few fan leaves to slow down the growth.

either way she will be fine as long as you have room to move your lights up. plus like you said its pretty strain specific it will all just depend on how much your strain stretches.
in any case i cant wait to see how she goes in flower its going to be sweet

ok here it is. people always so when a plant stretches it gets between 1.5 - 2.5 x its size. so stretch is relative to size. if your plant is 20" and it stretches 2 x its size it will be 60" by the end but if it was only 10" when u flip it it will end up being 30" make sense.

well scotty only veg'd for 25 days so his plant was small meaning less stretch to fill his screen but if you have veg'd for longer and your plant is bigger you will have much more growth to deal with. i hope that makes sense, it does to me but i wont know for sure till my next grow when i put my new theory to the test.

This theory makes perfect sense, I guess we will see it play out as our plants continue in their blooming cycle. I do for sure think that I flipped too late and had too long of a veg period, but it's my first grow so I knew things would go wrong and that I would be able to learn from them. Hopefully my stretch won't go crazy or I'll have some problems.

Another major concern of mine is dealing with the odor. I just received the carbon filter I ordered from LED wholesalers rated at 200CFM today. The problem is when I attached it to my outtake just by hand, it really cut down on the flow coming from my fan. I know this is probably because I'm running the Stanley blower and not an inline fan, but I'm concerned that I will start encountering temperature issues as I'm already as hot as I want to be with my high temp reaching around 83 give or take a degree during the warmest times. I'm trying to figure out a way to get this to work, but I may just have to return the filter and save up for a bigger one. I'm not even sure how much this plant will smell, I know that some of the sannies strains I ordered are rather potent in smell, but I don't have much info on this particular strain yet as it is fairly new. How's your odor?

well im no expert but the buddha started stinking out my place from about week 2 still in veg and just got worse and worse once i hit 12/12 my house really stunk. i had to go and get a philter myself i got a biggun 250mm cleared up most of the smell. still gets a bit stinky while the lights are off. worst part is the vk is about to go 12/12 and its really starting to smell now too. nowhere near as bad as the buddha though. if your not getting stunk out of house and home now maybe u will be ok. the smell wouldnt bother me if i didnt have my partners family staying for a couple of days over christmas lol
