~IGUG~multi strain DWC bubble bucket

I am officially starting a new journal, and starting hydroponics for the first time with multiple strains including Lemon skunk, blue moonshine, royal kush, and master kush. They are not feminized and I only have room for 4 plants in a DWC homemade bubbler. I hope they are all female but what are the odds. I am going to the local hydro store tommorrow to get all the things needed to make a homemade bubble bucket that include.

$6.95 hydroton rock
$18.00 air pump
$14.00 water pump
$17.20 ph test kit
$10.00 rockwool cube
$14.00 air stones
$5.00 1/4" black tubing

I will be using Dutchmasters Grow A-B gold range nutes for veg, and foxfarms big bloom and tiger bloom for flower. I dont have a ppm or EC meter so I guess I will start out light with the nutes and keep the ph between 5.9-6.3 depending on how the plants react. I will most likely have pics up and my DWC system setup by this weekend also all my seeds will be done germinating by this weekend so everyone check back this weekend for details and pics. I have a 120mm cpu fan for my exaust on my diy cfl air cooled reflector, also I have two more smaller fans for my intake. I dont have all of my bulbs yet but eventually there will be 10 26w 6500k 100w replacement bulbs in my 1ft x 2ft x 3ft space. Stay high everyone and voyage on this journey with me.:leaf:

I will be updating every two weeks with lots of pics and info on the plants health and growing status and I will have random updates sometimes also which will be a surprize so get subbed, this thread is also for conversation on anything educational about growing marijuana because I want my thread to be as informative as possible.

Ok I drove up to the new hydro store here and got some badass shit, I got everything I needed, hydroton, air pump, 2 air stones, 1/4in black tubing, GH- ph test kit, roto rooter plugs( substitue for rockwool ), 3" net cups, and 3 free samples of fox farms bush doctor sledgehammer, bush doctor microbe brew plant food activation, bush doctor kangaroots root drench. I also bought some expensive ass shit called Hygrozyme and its kills bacteria and pathogens in the water and roots, the guy at the hydro store told me that this shit is the best. I used the hygrozyme to clean my hydroton and my res out with Im going to let my system run overnight in ph 5.9-6.0 with a small amout of hygrozyme to be sure I cleaned it good enough then tommorrow I will try to get everything put together, I havent tested my temps in my grow cab yet they felt fine by hand but im not sure. I have some bad news alread though, because the base of my grow cab is small but gets bigger as it goes up I will only be able to grow the blue moonshine and the royal kush because they are already germinating and i dont want to waste the seeds. I have the lemon skunk seeds and master kush seeds put up in a jar waiting for there chance but I guess I will just keep to my seeds I already started. Oh yea I found out for now I will I can only do 4 bulbs at a time, so Im using 4-42w 150w replacement bulbs but I will be making a DIY cfl light fixture that will hold 8-10 26w cfls. I plan on cleaning my res at least once a week every week, I dont want to even use nutes until I see the plant starts needing food. I have DM, and FF nutrient lines and I am kinda worried about using these nutes not know what my PPM is because I read sometimes the plants dont uptake the nutrients just the water and you when you top off the res with a nutrient solution it mixes with the left behind nutrients and overdoses your plants with a really high PPM, enough to burn them and possibly kill. But Im just going to take it easy with the nutrients at first like 1/4 strength and if I have to top the res off I will use just plain ph 5.9 water. ANYWAY im rambling just remember if you have anything education to say about the cultivation of this great herb called marijuana then please speakup and spill yo brain on the subject I even accept peaple asking questions and posting pics just nothing stupid and nothing disrespectful or obnoxious, lol not sure if I spelled that right. PEACE

Sorry for not getting pics up this weekend but I still dont have a SD card for my camera yet but will within the next week. I planted two royal kush seeds in one pot and 1 blue moonshine in the other pot, I am debating keeping both royal kush if they wont harm each other. I dont know I might just trim the weaker royal kush seedling just incase. Anyway they seedlings are doing good, the roots have already reached the bottom of the pots and the seedlings leaves have just opened today. I have been hand watering but I think within the next few days the roots will be in the water and I can let the bubbles do the job. I plan on changing my res water once a week and thouroughly cleaning every other week. I will have a pic update asap.

I just killed one of the royal kush seedlings because I decided not to have two in 1 pot because if 1 plant is female and the other is male I will kill the male and the roots will stay rotting in my resiviour and will probably kill the other two plants, so I decided not to take a chance. sorry still no SD card for pics, the royal kush seedling is already 2" tall and starting its first true set of leaves, and its roots have reached the bottom of the net cup. The blue moonshine is a little slower it is just starting its first round leaves and its a 1/2" tall, also I cant see the moonshines roots yet, both the royal kush and blue moonshine seeds were started on the same day and both germinated at the same rate so I put them both in the roto rooter plugs on the same day.

I have been working on my grow cab alot here in the last few days, and have gotten alot done, I made my diy cfl fixture that holds 9 bulbs. I light proofed my whole grow cab. I have stabalized my air temp at 82 and my water temp at 72. Its hard to get it any cooler in there because of all the bulbs in such a small space. I think its like 230w of cfl. I have my cfl fixture closer to the plants right now but when they get bigger the lights will be closer to my exaust and the temps should be cooler. I built a cpu fan into the fixture to also help pull some heat away from the bulbs. I started the plants low in the net cup so the roots would hit the water quicker and have been adding hydroton around the stem for the last few days as the plants get taller so they look smaller than they are. Anyway I have my SD and there will be plenty of pics to come peace.

I gave them 3ml each of Dutchmaster grow A, and B and they have took off for two weeks in they look to be in perfect health. The blue moonshine had a slight nute burn but nothing serious. They are seriously growing a node per day now, and the roots are getting thick. I have changed the res one time and I will change it out today and clean with peroxide and iso. Anyway things looking good so far, I have not had any ph spikes my air temps are at 78 steady and water temps at 68-70. It seems like the bigger the plants get the cooler my water temps get.

Today is 2 days late for the week 3 update, I have just been busy here lately. I will have new pics up in a few days, they are looking amazing now.

This is not going to be a full update but I will post up some new pics, I cant seem to get them taller they are just bushing out more and more. For the last two weeks I have had my lights lifted to abouth 1ft above the plants and they are still short and bushy no signs of stretching, i think I will flip them to flower within the next few days. The plant I took the most pics of is the blue moonshine and I hope its a female, my royal kush is doing good to just not quite as big as the blue moonshine. I learned my lesson growing different strains together in a small space, because the blue moonshine is taking over the space. The royal kush still looks real nice, I just didnt have time to pull the royal kush out for pics I will have more pics in a few days. I just fed my first full strength nutes to them and they are loving it especially the royal kush because i think it can handle more nutrients than the blue moonshine.

The roots look a little brown because I was gone for three days and when I got back the container was dry, completely dry. I imediately cleaned the res and filled with new ph 5.6 water with full strength nutrients because they had yellowed up some so they looked pretty hungary. As you can see from the pics they loved the nutes and are looking lush and green now, the royal kush is somewhat still under shock and still a little lighter in color.

Wow I mean wow I personally have never seen plants so short and thick with leaves as big as your hand like mine, the blue moonshine is growing and full inch a day, more growth in width than height but now that I have started the 12/12 light cycle they are getting taller but still super bushy, the stem is as big as my pinky finger on the blue moonshine and the leaves as big as my hand and im 260lbs and 6ft 3in, so you know I huge hands so these leaves are pretty big. The blue moonshine is taking over the royal kush, idk why but the royal kush grows better outdoors. The royal kush is still growing good, and its healthy it just seems to be less vigorous in growth than the blue moonshine, so as of now my preferred strain in this grow is the blue moonshine because of its health, vigor, and characteristics. But I have just ended Phase 1, there is still a whole Phase 2 that the royal kush could become my preferred strain because of yeild, taste, aroma. The royal kush could react great to my flowering nutrients and the blue moonshine may not react too good, hopefully they both like the Fox Farms big bloom, and tiger bloom. I am still using the veg nutes for the first week of flower because I want to increase the amount of bud sights, then I will switch to my flowering nutrients in the second week of flower starting them at 1/4 strength, as for now though they are so healthy its unreal so green they almost look purple but are not nute burned, idk.

They are looking awsome, everything is going good on my side.:-o:clap:

Nice bushy plants mate

Thanks man good to see some people finally commented on my plants, again thanks for stopping by feel free to stop by anytime and check them out. They are quite bushy arent they, well I have been giving them full strength nutes for a few weeks now and keeping my lights close as I can since I started flowering, I change the reservoir 1-2 tims weekly depending on how dirty the water is. I wipe the inside of my res with peroxide and alchohol and soak my airstones in the alchohol, then rense everything put it back together add my nutrients, and Ph 5.7-5.8 the water then put the plants back in res and thats all, it only takes like ten minutes. I was told I needed a ppm meter and EC meter but I decided to try and grow without all those things and I am doing it fine i think.

Very cool. Ill keep following :) (if i can figure out how to...) lolll

Welcome to Riu NZgrowah, Im glad you have come to join me hope you like the outcome. I will be posting in this journal weekly until harvest, then I am going to either begin my Lemon skunk, Granddaddy purp, or Master Kush next go round.

wuddup igug! im here brotha! you should be proud,my dwc doesnt look half that good.i got like 8in long roots, but half that many! im subbed
