Whilst the Coast Guard is under Homeland Sercurity during peace time it is still a part of our armed forces and can be under the the command of the Department of the Navy at anytime made by the POTUS or by Congress when we are at war...

All water a certain distance off of the coast of a country is deemed International Waters. I am not sure if it is 1 or 2 miles and if those are nautical miles.

Ships of any nationality are free to sail anywhere else and in many cases into national waters.

The body of water we are talking about is many many miles across and thus qualifies as being international waters.

In addition to the fact that we have saved at least 1 if not 2 Iranian boats from pirates in the last month they should be thanking us, not threatening us.

Because going by our current US standards, it would have been no big deal back in the day when Russia was giving Cuba all those missiles.
Of course, that's as long as its the US dispensing the weaponry and no one else, we can't have someone else horning in on our racquet.
