Winter needs Piercing Advice

I have pierced ears, one hole in each ear and had them for a long time. One hole has closed itself.

I like wearing earrings, but haven't for more than a year or so because I've been working regularly in my shop and then I just forgot about them.

Here's the issues: Can I get another piercing in the same place with no problem? Will I have problems with earrings hanging the same on both sides?

Here's the really big issue. I passed out when they pierced my ears the first time. It happened after the second ear was done. I'd like to add one more earring to each ear. If I pass out again will they still do the extra 2?

Any suggestions for getting through this without passing out? I think it was the sound of the tissue squishing that got to me.

That's kind of fascinating... I am thinking you need to get pierced in a place with very loud music. The kind of loud where even when your ears are blocked it's still mostly audible.

Mine closed and I just took an earring and reopened them. It kinda hurt. ;) But it worked just fine. Now they've been closed again for 6 years. Think I'll leave them that way.

If I were you, I'd leave the ears alone and do both my nose and lip, with a gold chain connecting them together.
And maybe pierce somewhere a little bit more, um, south, of my ears.

Nah, I'm just messin wit'cha, lol!

Im pretty sure you will find that they can re pierce in the exact same spot :),especially with ears, still just go into your local place and as what they think,no one knows better than a professional

How do you pick a professional. The guy that did mine originally is long gone and it was before the shops appeared.

get them repierced, just don't get them punched that shit would hurt a bit more

weird how ears will close up but my tongue will not close up at all. i had a bar in it for 10 years and nothing for the past 4 years and its still open.

Does it feel weird when you eat? I've always wanted to know that.

not at all, but you need to be careful because if you bite it hard you will crack a molar. people take it out for that reason. i did not mess my speech up either. but i will say that it takes about a year for your tongue to go back to normal. in 1-2 months its healed but it will stay a bit puffy. that was my observation

i do run a paper clip through it once an awhile for the chicks at the office. i always get the fuck eye after i do that. after all i did get it for my girlfriend at the time since i'm an oral fanatic.

You should be fine, but treat it like a mushroom trip and have a friend along. This way the friend can make sure they do the extra holes and nobody fondles you. Also, maybe an iPod on blast will help with the squishy sounds. =)

It only happened a couple of time but I do have a problem with passing out when under stress. When told I was going to be audited by the IRS I immediately stood up and fell over out cold. I heard everything but just couldn't move.

My wife has the same problem with passing out. They can go through scar tissue but it is more painful. Many piercers I know encourage the use of a very small punch for piercing through scar tissue - this will not look like a gauge due to the small size but it is considerably more painful than a typical piercing. I want to say the thought behind the punch is to remove just enough scar tissue so that the earring doesn't end up angled due to hard scar tissue unevenly pushing on it. Best route imo would be to get some H202 and a stainless earing and slowly work it through your old hole over several days - if they are at all still open. Vasaline helps.

Good understanding piercers are familiar with people that pass out. Just make sure to let them know that it's a possibility before hand.

Awwww. =(
We're polar opposites. I go into action ninja mode when attacked by stressful situations.

Side note, my house still smells awesome from the soap.
