none, get a t5. cfl's are junk. i don't understand why so many people here are obsessed with cfls. real growers do not use cfls. if you have them in your room, do not call yourself a grower. its like playing in the kiddy pool and telling people your a swimmer. this comment is not directed at any one person

I grow with cfls and im quite happy with my results ... Dont bash cfls if you never even grew with them before. OP Im using 5000k for veg with a couple 2700k to mix up the spectrum. I've been vegging for about 27 days now on my biggest plants and about 17 on my smaller ones. These are from clone

I have T5's, T12's and different sized cfls for veg/cloning. I use hps for flowering. Nothing wrong with cfls at all. they are cheap, easy to find, and put off a good amount of light for the price. Sure, high output T5's are better, but you gotta spend $100 to get something decent. For $20 you can put out the same amount of light with cfl. Just make sure you get the "cool white" or "daylight" bulbs for veg. I like the 6500K ones myself, but some people like 5000k. Some growers also like to put some 6500k clf in their flower room along with their hps to get a little more of the blue spectrum in there during flowering.

Personally for clones I just use a 2 foot 2 tube T12 strip on 24/7. Once the clones are rooted I move them under cfl/T5 light to veg. Clones don't need a lot of light to root, so the T12's are perfect.

CFLs are fine for cloning, but I wouldn't use them outside of anything for that. They produce the least amount of L/W, so are essentially the most inefficient light for growth.

what do you grow poision ivy? who cares what size his plants ? besides those look pretty compact to me not evryone wants a stretchy plant like yours. as far as CFL goes its a great light yeah T5 or MH is a little better but it just depends on what the grower can afford i use cfl snd i use t5 and i would say both are pretty equal but t5 is better top lighting than cfl

CFL produce the second most efficient L/W when compared to all fluoro. t2 is the best size also known as MINI TWIST

I'm not going for height bro if you can't tell , this is why I'm LST training them.
So please keep your stupid comments to yourself. Ive pulled 2oz a plant with cfls before so to say they are "crappy for growing weed" is ignorant. Of course hps will give you more budI'm not arguing with that. Hps just isn't right for everyone's setup/space. So keep your ignorant comments yourself this form is already full of bullshit, no need to let it spew from your mouth too.

https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/514705-golden-goat-organic-4000w.html these are my plants vegged under t5's. do your plants look like that? no, i didn't think so. you know why? its because you keep telling yourselves that cfl's arn't a waste of money. as they great judge judy once said "don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining". i got a bunch of mine for $100/unit used off of craigslist. how much have you spent to buy all the cfl bulbs and sockets?

I'm a carpenter so I had a bunch of stuff laying around used bathroom fixtures, fans, buckets, etc. The only things I have paid for is the clones and the bulbs which ran me about $60 over a 2 year period (added more cfls next grow). I'm happy with my harvest so I'm content with using cfls for my PERSONAL grow.
If I start supplying other patients or dispenseries of course ill switch to mh/hps . But until then cfls are the way to go for me . Besides I grow outdoors cfls just get me through the winters when I need to grow.

i would like to say grate set up and much respect for anyone who spends that much time and effort into there grow ....HOWEVER!...u cant sit here and say the dude is not a grower...he planted a seed and its growing and he taking care of his plants...hes a grower!...not saying hes a bad/good grower, hes a grower tho...i can also say depending on the space you have T5 would be the way to go, but for somone who just wants to grow some plants OR CLONES(i use cfl for clones mostly cuz there energy eff. and i can leave them on for 24hr.) you can do that to...i seen some nice buds from cfls but the problem with cfls in my opinion is the buds are so leafy and u get that green taste no matter wat you do...btw i use CLFS-cloning MH-veg and HPS-for flowering and i do so cuz of cool tubes...cant stck a bunch of t5's in a cool tube thats all i know :)
