The really sad part is he didn't even have the common curtsy to allow her to say her piece. He was apparently so abashed by this little old lady that he felt it was necessary to interrupt her as she was clearly preparing to speak with threats none the less. He was evidently afraid of what she might say in response, weather it be to intellectually taxing for him to process or of him being un able to control himself when faced with another person who disagreed with him. Either way i he appears both narcissistic and arrogant.

You need to read the story again, that's is clearly not what happened.

I've done the same shit at work with customers before, was going to respond back but didn't for the sake of the job. It's an unfortunate situation, but the lady did initiate the situation.

Stupid people are stupid regardless of age, yes I agree old people should be respected, but if they say something stupid in public, their age should not shield them from criticism. ​

I would look the guy right in the eyes and apologize for being rude and unaware of my surroundings, then quickly realize I should probably keep my political opinions that could possibly offend customers to myself.

Let the old lady be offended, she SHOULD be offended for being rude in the first place.

I see where he is coming from, i often feel the same way when I over hear the constant unfounded big-media backed Ron Paul criticism (he out, its over, i'm not trying to start anything). I feel an irrational feeling of aggression toward the people who, in my opinion are spewing out lines they have been hand fed second hand with out ever weighing the benefits to the country of his platform. Again, I'm not starting a Ron Paul topic, I'm simply trying (poorly) to illustrate the feeling this man must have been griped by while watching/over hearing this lady.

But at the same time I lost a fair amount respect for him biased on the encounter he felt proud enough of to post online. He is not in control of himself, oh i'm sure he manages to go about daily life well enough to avoid conflict with the authorities, but very lacking is his understanding of human interaction and personal liberties, or at the very least feel his are delusions of the concepts are extend only to himself and those who agree with him.

I talk about politics, race, and religion nearly every day at work. I make it clear that anyone who feels uncomfortable with themselves and do not wish to take part in the discussion may excuse themselves and I will take no offence, or they can hang out and listen until they wish to shear there opinions.

Disagreements do not make enemy's out of adults. =)

It's seldom the case that I find myself in complete agreement with the libs on the forum, however, the woman was way out of line discussing politics and disparaging the President while on the job. The author was more than polite in his first effort to warn her, but he could have left out the "fuckin" when it looked like she was going to continue. This wasn't debate club and she wasn't a political pundit. She was a cashier ringing up purchases. He had every right (once again don't like his method) to tell her to stop. She is there to do her job not voice her political opinions.
