lol. If you're gonna be running 2 600 watt lights i suggest getting the lumatek dual 600W ballast if you have a 240V outlet that you can use. This way instead of paying 200+ per ballast you pay 275 for one ballast that will run both lights and be done with it.

fehk lumatek<------ opinion derived from personal experience.

Fuck those, digi's fail, and you have to buy more lamps that fail twice as fast as those for magnetic. I've never had a magnetic balast die on me, and I've owned my share. I have one that's 15 yrs old and still runs like a stud.

Whatever...my ballasts have warranties and my bulbs do also. You happened to be one of the unlucky ones that had a lumatek ballast go bad. I'm sure if you search the internet you'll find plenty about magnetic ballasts going bad also. Problem with reviews is people rarely turn the internet to talk about how great something is....they only go to the internet to talk when something breaks.

yeah but if a mag ballast breaks you can fix it yourself! You don't have to send the damn thing in and wait for a new one. Fuck all that. Not worth it. Nothing china made is though

You guys are to much. Not one person has even attempted to answer this guys question. Instantly the vultures jump in with their own personal bias about ballast. Who cares wether some dude likes magnetics over digital, it has nothing to do with what is being asked here. If you dont have any knowledge about this brand, there is really no need to comment.
To answer your question: I have heard good things about Hypotek. I personally dont use them, but there was a pro grower on here last year (big grow op) and he swore by them. He said they were as good as the top brands without the high price.

well to make KBO happy. If you are set on getting a digital ballast...get a lumatek, quantum or galaxy ballast. Do not buy cheap ass ballasts from ebay....we don't want to hear about your house burning down. Also the ebay ones usually dont have good RF shielding so if your neighbors tv starts freaking out while your lights are on dont be suprised when the cable company comes knocking on the door.

oh and not to mention magnetic ballasts last FOREVER . my last electric bill was 149 total running my 1000 hps 12 hours a day , looking at old bills my 1000 watter isn't anything near half my bill so i'm not turned on by the claim of power saving digitals.

yeah the power saving notion was part of what got me to buy lumatek, along with less heat being generated. they definatley run cooler than mag ballasts, but they break, and they do so often. I don't think i'm unlucky because i got one that broke. I think other guys get lucky buying one that Happened to not break.

digitals only save you elec at the start up, htey just convert the elec more efficiently into light thru the use of higher mhz
