How do you flush?

I was wondering how you veteran growers flush for all the new growers out there? I've read alot of post that say your not supposed to flush with just water and thats a newb mistake, so i wanted to know for everyone out here your flush methods and times you do it? Lets see how many different and correct ways to flush there are.

Well I have been growing in soil for about 5 seasons now and i use chemical nutes as well. When I start using my chemical nutes I flush the soil with regular water every other week, my tap water is about 7.4 ph, and I use 3 times the amount of water to how ever many gallons the pot is. So if its a 5 gallon pot I use 15 gallons of water to flush the mineral salt build up out of the soil, My last few grows I have been focusing on taste on smell and looking at my last grow I think this is a affective/easy method to prevent nutrient deficiencies, and get rid of salt build which will make the buds not taste so good. After that Its just a month cure away from smelling almost as good as it did on the plant. Hope this helps.

There are solutions you can add to the water that supposedly help get rid of the salt build up while flushing but I always thought those nutrient lines are just trying to get more money out of you lol.

A local club did a test on organic vs chem and the organic won of course. The next test they switched the cards that labeled the buds. Again the organic won, which really was the chem bud. It was the the same strain just different style nutes. This goes to tell if you know what you are doing then both styles of growing can produce dense, bomb smelling, tasty buds. Stay high

I grow in water and about a week before I cut them I switch the buckets to plain tap water at ph 6.0

I dont tell them i grow organic and he grows chem. Never even asked what they prefer, thats just the feedback.
Not saying chem cant produce in that department like you say. Just from my experiences, and what Ive been told.

Wasnt really stating it saying organic is better for taste, just that you dont have to flush to get the taste like with chem.
Ive tasted unflushed chem, and it was nasty and harsh as fuck.

I like to use the handle But on a serious note the whole purpose of flushing is to get the excess nitrogen out so the bud burns proper.Flushed weed=nice white ash , unflushed=won't stay lit black ash bud

They are using this to flush with?never heard of this but peroxide in hydro is no uncommon thing helps with oxygen uptake and keeps root rot to a minimum

ok, so why would someone use it in soil in a flush? I've heard of people using it in your grow for bacteria and mold and such but just cant grasp why in a flush?

Just read a recent article by ganjaluvr and he said the same thing about flushing,you should all check it out has some great info on pot potency. Ill find it real quick.

i dont flush i make sure i have a little run off every watering last 4 weeks reduce amount of nutes last 2weeks only water i have flushed before when my ph pen was way off and locked out nutes flushed 4 gal pot 4 gal water very light nute mix 1tbl spoon peroxide and a little superthrive cause they were looking fried.

Yeah that was a nice little write up ,One thing he didn't go into that i feel is important is leaving your girls in total dark for final days of harvest,I am having good results at 3-5 days total darkness before cutting ,this brought out a noticeable difference in my kc 36 went from a low odor to a pretty strong kerosene diesel smell,i didn't notice much swelling in her but it really helped on the cali orange.
