Mexico

It's all blown out of proportion to sell advertising. If it bleeds it leads.
I used to live in the north, central highlands about 150 miles west of Tampico, now I live just south of Tijuana.
No, dodging bullets is not a daily routine. I've had more cause for concern in Houston, Pittsburg, Chicago and LA than I have anyplace in Mexico.

40,000-60,000 deaths since 06, that's all media hype?

average of 45 murders a day in the US. 45x365=16425. 2006-now = 5 years.

82,125. thats damn near twice as many as mexico.. more than anywhere in the world.

but its okay! because this is a christian nation and everyone is going to heaven. wtf

I believe the 40-60 thousand deaths statistic is attributed to the murders committed because of the war on drugs by the cartels. I believe there's a running total, separate from those numbers. So it would be all the normal murders + the additional 40-60 thousand committed by the cartels.

Per 100,000 citizens, Mexico has 18 homicides, the US has 4.8, according to Wiki;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

3 times the homicides in a country that's 3 times as small

the government is corrupt so the strong do as they please. the U.S does nothing cause there is no real benifit we need them unstable so they come here and work for nothing and canot ever become a threat.

10,000 missing, bet no more than a handful are alive.Without the Merida money Calderon may not have declared war on cartels.No preparation went into the war at all.Basic stategy(get the top men) has failed.Drugs are as plentiful as ever.Meth production has exploded,and Mexico seems to be awash in all drugs.War has pushed Cartels into Central America,those countries are yelling uncle, U.S.is occupying,and remember we never leave.Calderon's party will lose election by double digits maybe 20 points in a 3 man race.Legalization in Mexico is the ony thing that will get U.S. to change policy IMO.

They are moving in that direction. Federally, small amounts of ALL drugs have been decriminalized.
