Anybody check out this guy, Enrique Trevino? I rolled out of bed today & read this article & started busting out laughing uncontrollably. 1,000,000... in a year? Come on now, guy.
1 Million Push ups to be done, in a year
=
1 Million / 365 = 2739.72 push ups a day
With ( let's be nice & presume the boy gets a maximum of 7 hours sleep every night)
17 hours a day to do this nonsense
161.16 Push ups, an hour
26.86 push ups every 10 minutes awake. Not factoring in, food, using the bathroom, socializing, press conferences or a day of rest for his muscles everyday he works out
That last little detail makes him have to double his workload = 322.32 Push ups an hour.
I'd argue that anyone with
the slightest understanding of math,
the most minuscule experience with muscle training,
(or even) a juvenile understanding of biology,
understands quite clearly he's not gonna make it.
Which is great news for a pacifist like myself, it's either
A) He damages his body terribly achieving the million in a year task. (An impossibility.)
B) He fails & makes Marines looks like shit. (Which I'm sure him & the Marines are not willing to endure nor admit)
C) He magically *achieves* a million push-ups. (BULLSHIT. He would have to cheat himself so badly, which is absolutely missing the point of bettering yourself. The Marines would also be compliant, in a publicity stunt that would undermine their image, which is awesome.)
Semper Fi Marine! You can drink the Atlantic Ocean, too,
& whatever other impossible task you think you can psyche yourself out into doing.
You can eat the sun.
The WHOLE sun. In a year.
I'm just enjoying all of the possible outcomes, It's pretty good for me. What it's not good for is- this guy. I actually don't really relish in the damage he's doing to himself. It's a bittersweet "I told you so."
& I don't wanna be the one to tell him eventually. Poor dumb kid, he's working for a not so disagreeable cause, poor people don't acquire the right skills in schools so they turn to jobs like the Army & Marines for some meaning & in order to "buckle down."
...but as a fellow proletariat, I hope you fail, miserably. =] Should've hit the books, cured cancer, something not impossible & pointless. Teach kids to not aspire to be murderers... why put more & more kids at risk of getting shot/ blown up/stabbed? People die, in real ways & NOT JUST IN WAR-ZONES. Why worsen that cycle? How immature must someone be to want more people to die? Have you not lived? Have you not loved? How sick. If you want to help injured veterans, feed them, talk to them. Don't promote the shitty image of an infallible man who goes around killing people 'round the world because he couldn't find his niche in school & instead devolves into a collectivist asshole with a penchant for bigotry & jingoism. It's a cowardly position. My children won't look up to that. You're a human, you can die, you will die & you're just a fucking pawn, get real. ...It just disturbs me on an intellectual level, the popularization of professional murderers as role models. Disgusting. Why not some news about the mercenary murderers at Xe (...or Blackwater, whatever name they're parading under now.) There's consensus about that, but not "our" (Psh.) armed forces.
What say you guys?
