maybe im wrong but i thought i was certain that water soluble pure cane sugar or organic sugars can be mixed with nutrients and increases yields.. obviously there are other types of sugars that plants like, like that type of sugar from honey whatever that stuffs called. and molasses of course but i think molasses gives a kinda gross taste

They can definitely increase yields, but the action isn't directly on the plant. The theory iirc is that the sugar is a feast for the microherd (the ecology of microbes that live in soil) which incidentally breaks down "prenutrients" in the soil into nutrients the plant can use. It's a reason that sugars convey no benefit in hydro, and in fact are a problem, because you don't want a yeasty fermentation (or worse, a bacterial bloom) in hydro nute. cn

just felt like i would share this story real quick with you guys for some laughs. me someone today thats a "grower" or so they say. told me they had a neat little trick they would share with me. said how he makes his weed taste really good when he grows is to put skittles in a cup with water and let them sit for awhile and then water the plant with that. he said i could grow huge plants that taste like skittles when you smoked it. lol
dammit this is why my plants taste like dirt.

Here's something they actually did back in the 80s;
Grow poppies, catch all the run off water.
add a dash of poppy juice to the water, fert and pH as normal and the weed at the end is addictive and potent.
