My sister has given me a few 4 foot black lights and I figured instead of buying all new lights, I could just buy some nice HPS or LED bulbs I can put in my black lights.

Can someone tell me if this is possible and/or lead me in the right direction for the highest value bulbs?

bulbs are not interchangeable like your thinking...... you should look up high pressure sodium and LED and read up on them a little bit.

Ok, I guess this isn't possible then, and thank you for the replies. Can you all give me your input on this thread? https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/557443-best-light-grow-closet.html

You need to establish a budget and give us more info. How big a grow are you planning? You have a big closet. A 600w bulb will cover a 4'x4' area or you could use a 1,000w bulb. Either way you'd need a ballast that does both MH and HPS....unless you go with a T-5 for veg and an HPS for flower.

Do you have a way to ventilate the closet bringing air in and exhausting it out? You can do a lot with your closet....just need to know what you want.

I established a $200 budget for the lights, but I am willing to increase that. Just help me out a little finding the best value lights for my space. I will definitely want to utilize the full space of my closet, but I dont mind doing a small grow at first. I'm willing to throw out this black light idea hence why I made the new thread:p Yes, I have an AC unit that brings cold air in and blows hot air out of a hose. I have a sliding glass door literally 2 feet from the closet, so the hose can go out of that.

Anymore info I can provide??
