I feel the same way, totally unnecessary .. I guess the writers know the show is coming to an end, and want it to end with a bang .
Walter is so self absorbed .. he won't see it coming ..
 
I knew Mike was going to get clipped a few weeks ago..when Walt said that "flew to close to the sun"..Mike stuck a gun in Walts face too many times and handcuffed his ass to a radiator ..tough shit..mike had to go..now Walt playing games with Jessies money..not cool...great episode..Walt better make that body disappear forever or Jesse will think he is next.
 
This season seems like, idk, totally random. Can't say I'm a huge fan. I don't feel any plot development. Besides the obvious (mike dying).
 
agree...the first few episodes were the weakest to date ...not sure why they are making Walt turn into a dummy after being a genius this whole time...like he is going to forget that old girl tried to have mike whacked and the rest of the guys on the list...the walt mike showdown was inevitable but kinda disappointing...not enough saul and why wouldn't walt move out of the house and do his thing...just seems like lazy writing to have walt get sloppy after all he has been through.

wow, didn't see that coming with mike.

i think the moral is - power corrupts.

basic theme since middle english. no matter how smart or nice someone is, give them power and they will change in a heartbeat.

The moral of the story is eventually writers will sell out to the larger audience to make entertaining episodes at the sake of plot development/story line.

maybe you're right. but the writers have some say in it. just my opinion. classic theme.

ratings count too and when the show first started i bet a lot of companies were hesitant about advertising on a show about producting meth - "the countries most dangerous drug."

the show can't go on forever. so what would a non-sell out writer do? the economy sucks. if my boss made me change a story or get fired I would change it. no show goes on forever. plus my writer friend (wrote for hbo big love - one of many writers on the show btw) didn't make much at all and lived with 5 other dudes in a 1200 sqft house off sunset. one dude lived in the kitchen with a sheet for a wall. everyone gotta eat
 
Vince Gilligan is not some nobody..he has full control...he just got lazy and took the easy way out after running out of ideas..which sucks because the show was the best show on t.v. and maybe all time until this season.I know it is hard to keep coming up with fresh story lines and new characters since most of the intriguing characters have been killed off.
 
I get what you're saying but I'm not sure that's the point. I just don't feel it like I used to I guess.

I do think the episodes are "entertaining" (except for Skyler, I can always do with less of her). They just aren't, idk, I don't feel the you know, same thought provoking story that was in the earlier seasons.

I think they could had killed Mike in the first episode. I wish they found some way to kill Skyler (last season would had been good), but I'm not sure they could of pulled that off (Flynn should see it happen and not be able to stop it, lol).

I think the stuff with the train is kind of cool. The stuff with the douche bag from Phoenix, I don't like it, maybe as an adversary but not in this goofy way they have it now. Burning cars and sneaky ninja Mexicans, that's all I gotta say, lol.

But idk, it could be worse. And opinions and all that.
