DNF hydro organic 8-2-3 used just under 4.5mils per liter it calls for 5 in soil or soilless, but I figured I would go just under ,and a bit of barricade for ph up. Growing in pro-mix. 400w mh tons or vents going temps 21-27 mainly on the low end. here are some picswhat nutes are you using and at what strength? usually when I get that dried out leaf feel its cal/mag deficient, I'm not saying yours is yet.. need more info
I think you right. Went out and found a wicked PH/light/watering meter for $15 works well and doesn't take batteries. Anyways my promix is right at 7 so I'm thinking it's da nutes or a fungus of some sort. Maybe not enough o2 getting to the roots. Time will tell just flushed the shit out of the darkest one and am waiting on the results to treat the others.Alright your following the feed water water feed? I would pull back the nutes it looks really green which is fine but that might be sign of too much Nitrogen at this point so lower it if you have access to some cal/mag a small amount will go a long way and strengthen those leaf surfaces so there not so open too burns.. if your tight just pull back and spray the leaves during dark hours
I would kind of argue the price having to be that high but agree those things at garden sections at Wal Mart or Lowes are junk. I have a Milwaukee PH55 Martini which is made in Romania I believe. Whatever it is excellent construction, easy to calibrate and it stays calibrated. I bought the 250 ML calibration solutions 4.01 and 7.01 with it and got it with shipping to AK for $100.00. I'm in the medical profession and this instrument seems to be heavy duty and the frequent checks using the calibration solutions when I first got it seemed needless as it was always spot on so I stopped. Now I check it every 2 weeks or if something doesn't seem right in my DWCs. I have read that Martini is Milwaukee's high end instruments and have seen one of their pH testers on a stand with a base and display on a wine connoisseur site. $325.00 + S/H.That meter you have SUCKS......they are not accurate at all. You may not believe it right now, but you will as more problems/deficiencies arise. Spend the $125 to get a proper pH/ppm meter and be done with it. I did the same thing and learned the hard way- many years ago. And yes, what you are experiencing is the beginning of a cal/mag issue.
You would be wise to heed SSHZ's admonition above. Words from the wise to those whose head serves more purpose than keeping their ears apart. That meter you have SUCKS......they are not accurate at all. Newbies - a complete and practical description you need to read and heed. Well said, SSHZ.I use the Nutradip Tri-meter and this is my second unit in 15 years or so. It's so accurate, I now check pH/ppm at the end of each crop and then still I never seem to have to adjust for accuracy. It is very good and the CORNERSTONE of my garden. I think they can be found for around $150 or so.
What I find most interesting about newbies is: their unwillingness to spend the initial $$$$$$ to help insure success. It's not rocket science but good water and soil, a complete fertilizer, a solid pH/ppm meter, enough of the right light and good genetics goes a very long way towards producing a nice smoke. Still others have to learn the hard way......
I have a hanna pocket meter also. Just not sure how to get a good read on my mix??? I watered once with a ph of 7 and the run off was 6. No clue what to make of that. Have you worked with the p.o.s 3 in 1 meter that I have ? it's made for dirt only and has two prongs. I'm headed to get some lime tomorrow tried this eve but the fucking nim rod at the stor left all the bags outside and they were ripper and wet. I have been flushing them out a bit. Any idea on how to get a good read with my digital hanna meter???That meter you have SUCKS......they are not accurate at all. totally agree with this assessmentAt your listed ratio you are feeding 360ppm nitrogen. Way high. Feed one-quarter of that after the plant recovers ... cn
<add> Might also be overwatered. The tip wilt suggests roots gasping for breath. Wild guess.
yea my pump broke and the water I was useing had low levels of o2 in it. I have used h2o2 to clean the roots in the past.totally agree with this assessment
Just standing up for myself here bro. Don't mean to be a dick. I calibrate my hanna b4 n after each time I use it. Any clue what my run off means??? Won't lime fix this for me, and does breaking it down to a fine powder help save time? Oh and my 3 in 1 meter is from hydro farm and was from the grow shop. I expected it to work for that reason alone. check out these customer reviews on it. They seen very happy with it's performence.Chill dude........we're just trying to help. MOst of us at one time or another have seen and purchased those cheap-ass meters at our local garden stores or Walmart, etc. They are inaccurate and a waste. You will need to buy some pH meter fluid to test and accurately calibrate the meter so u know you are getting a good reading. The Hanna's are ok, but you'll need to calibrate often cause they swing like crazy.
Still working it out. So far I have flushed 2 of them very well and I have droped some lime in the other two, witch I'll flush tomorrow once my water is ready. I'm thinking of grabbing some cal/meg spray n testing it out on one tonight after lights out. Keep ya postedDid we decide if this was a Cal/mag issue or a over Fert? i have similar issues my leaves may not be quiet as dark as his and i also have some cupping up and some doing the claw.
