If Imitrex works then why aren't they prescribing it in sufficient amounts? Insurance? And beta blockers other than Inderal can help.

No, see that is part of the problem with my heart. I can only have 1 cup of coffee in the morning. No caffeinated soda or green tea or anything like that after that. The neurologist should have ordered an MRI to start to see if there is an underlying cause for the migraines. Should have listened to my medical history that I had to write down, and then he asked me again after I wrote it. So it's not like the mofo ;) didn't know.
 
I have the Imitrex. I was happy with the Imitrex, even though it does give me one of the fibs, a v ? Idk - palpitations. And even though my whole body fights it as it hits me, but not in a bad way. It is the only thing that takes the pain away. I don't even like to take ibuprofen 800. sorry to be blunt, but I don't like to be umm backed up.

Let's hope to hell it's not V-fib. A-fib but still uncomfortable. NSAIDS long term can be very bad for your kidneys. Not to mention epigastric discomfort all the way to severe pain from heartburn. Have you tried using Citrucell? Beats the psyllium fiber drinks as it's not grainy and doesn't turn in to a plug while you're trying to gag it down like Metamucil. I'm medical, you can't be too blunt with me. It's impossible.

I know exactly what you mean by that fighting feeling. I take Maxalt, a more orally available triptan, and I can definitely feel it duking it out with the migraine. Sometimes the headache wins; Hulk Smash! cn
 
In my younger days, I used to pop tylenol and advil by the handful. Now I don't like to touch em. I take omeprazole everyday plus a super probiotic. And if I am even too late in the day taking it, it let's me know. I use ground flax in my morning smoothie, but should probably add some Citrucell, couldn't hurt.
 
I have used Maxalt before too. It works well and same fighting feeling. I am Medicare/Medi-Cal, so I have to go with which ever one they cover. It switches up every once in a while. The Maxalt's used to have a sublingual tab great for when I couldn't keep the pill down.
 
I don't use Tylenol because it has zero effect on me. Back in the day, the only sort I had served as the vehicle for the real drug. But this big ol' white rabbit can't tango with the poppy any more. :( Advil i take very sparingly because I have a gerd-like disorder as well ~sigh~ I remember getting Nexium for a copay. Now I buy the cash generic and take it sporadically. And my Maxalt supply is dwindling, mmmmelllting. cn
 
I have the doc write the script for 100s on the Imitrex and cut them in half. ha! what a bahgain! 2 fer 1 ;)
 
going back to the original apology...between the hell pill and the hell pause (yeah, that's right, menopause dammit - way the phuck ;) early too), I have been going through a bit of the crazies. So much so that my cardiologist referred me to a psychiatrist. My tongue unrolls and I just can't stop it. I start rambling (when I speak verbally) and I really do sound nuts. I think this may have cost me a friend or two, but there is nothing I can do about that now. *sigh* So I guess not only do I need to apologize for my profanity, but for my bout with the crazies with a certain few peeps. ahem...sorry

What you experience is a side effect of Topamax called prattling. It's similar to having tourettes. A nearly impossible urge to surpress. I get it with dysphoric/euphoric mixed episodes of bipolar. A nice sativa is the only way to calm it.

I do believe the Topahell has made it worse, but I have had this particular problem my whole life ;/ I remember as a child praying to Got that if I could just stop swearing (I've had many a soap loaded toothbrush trying to scrub the words out of my mouth), I would do - whatever lol. I am my father's daughter. I grew up listening to him 'Got damn' this, and 'Eff' that. Sooo...

This really is pure evil. I forgot to mention the severe itchiness all over, loss of taste (not good for me, considering I make edibles), my vision is worse every day, oh, and it is like legal fucking (oops) speed! wtf!? I feel like a motherfucking (sorry again) tweaker! I spent 2 years on that shit, so I know exactly what it is like. Again, this should NEVER have been prescribed to me. I am really scared. My heart has been going at 100 and over for weeks now. I have cut back to the one 50 mg pill in the morning (because that is all I have, with only 1 more left). Since I have cut back to just the one in the morning, some of the symptoms are better, like I don't itch so bad. But the damage to my heart worries me. I am only 45. This fucktard better hope he is in the office tomorrow.
