main seedling might be dead...what do you think? pics included

well i tried drying my soil out for the first time.. I didnt water before i went to bed like i usually do. when i woke up she looked like this :/ what do you think? dead? maybe can recover? the leaves are kinda yellow. I watered her till the water drained out of the bottom.

i had to water, the soil was completely dry, no water at all... and well i guess im gonna stop "growing" now :/ thats my third try and well... its just not working out for me :/ i dried the water off of the leaves so there is none left on it.

this sucks..

Its already overwatered, a plant that size in the cup wont need daily watering. Let the medium dry more before you water,

Does not look good but as long as there is some green there is hope. Anything you can do to to speed the soil drying would help; put in a dry room, light fan blowing, keep warm, lights close.

it might have survived but i dont think so now that you watered that much rememeber seedlings are very fragile they need to be planted fragily and they dont need alot of water just enough to keep the top moist until it gets bigger dont give up though i messed up alot of germies when i was an absoloute begginer and i still do fuck up from time to time remember that research is bestand forums like this can help alot

well i just put it back under the lights, put a fan blowing on it and i turned the overhead fan on also. hopefully that will help. there is green on the seedling. im really hoping she pulls through..

Try using a larger container and watering far less. I'll bet you pull it off.

Remember, the top of the soil will dry out but underneath there will still be some moisture for the roots, let the whole cup dry out next time then water.

Like the others suggest -- way overwatered. Leave it alone and see if it's strong enough to recover. Remember, in nature, young seedlings get rained on hard, and some of them still survive. So hang on and see what happens.

I run hydro, not soil, because I'm a heavy waterer myself. It's not something I ever got the feel for. It would be great if there were guidelines, like 1 Tablespoon every 36 hours, or something like that...but there don't seem to be.

But you know how much you've done, and you know now it's way too much. So if it recovers, wait until the soil is dry before watering again and then water at 1/4 the level you've been doing and see if that's okay.

Don't give up! Once you figure it out, it'll be with you for life.

yeah i have one germinating now, i started a few days ago. i had a feeling this was going to happen. once i plant that one, ill probably pop another just incase.

I added mylar yesterday..maybe it created a hot spot and burned it..

My Mom used to do that with her Aloe plants and some ferns, but those were fully grown monsters in pots, not itty bitty seedlings. Whoever wrote earlier that seedlings are fragile is right. When they get older you can be more aggressive, but at this stage, gentle, gentle, gentle.

Mylar dosent create hot spots.
I think your over zealous watering this week has left a deep pocket of moisture deep down in the cup, and that when the roots from your growing seedlign hit it it started to drown, then you watered it more :S
thats my theory anyway
there is a good chance it can recover if you jsut leave it alone for a while. as someone said earlier you might try starting any new seeds in a larger pot, where u can just give it one big waterign at the start and be good for a long while
