Hope production has caught up to consumption again EC.
Heres a pic of the Durban that you had the sample of....

And that is why you always trim the lowers, i let this clone go au natural.
Sorry for putting the picks here bubba, but everyone else was......
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."

Oh, and for sure take off the lower leaves if they are in the dirt or go south. Need to let the plant grow healthy parts and not try to maintain sick parts.

Yeah it really did look like a xmas tree! I had to keep pulling branches off of the bottom the the tray the pots sit in, weighed too much for her to hold them all up. Thats why you cant really see the pot, but there is a 5 or 7 gallon underthere somewhere

So, I was rummaging around in the cab before heading to work this morning and I think I found another pre-flower. The pic is lousy - sorry I will take with normal (for humans :-)) light this afternoon and repost. Look right at the juncture, something growing there but no hairs. Methinks its a dude... and it's my healthiest plant :-(

Too early i think bubba, but i see what you mean. I wouldn't rule out a girl yet though, i make sure i have a couple or few balls on at least one junction, that way i know its not a girl.

Ok, better pics. Was difficult due to how bushy they've gotten, small... but stout. I also found pre flowers on a 3rd Snow Goddess today, but the pics suck. Definitely a bump starting though. The sideways one is of the 1st SN that I found the pre flower on. And the baby is catching up to all of them... considering doing that UB topping method on the youngster.... but I haven't worked up the guts

I got 5 bucks says it is a female.

Here's a few more pics. I'm leaning towards calling SN4 a male, we'll see... I still think the Snow Goddess plants look like mutant house plants more than weed... leaves are fat... The poor little Dank5 is getting worse... it's depressing I'm putting it down soon. Also, one plant, the SN2 which is also the largest plant, has some brown spots on some leaves, but it seems quite healthy...

They all look great. Are you really thinking of launching the D5? Is there no hope for it? I also understand about launching plants that just aren't fun to look at. Who wants to visit their garden and get depressed?

The very top left pic looks like a little sack is forming. I say get a second/third opinion of some of the better growers here as I'm still new to this. If ends up being a male are you going to chop it or keep it? I say keep it and at the very least store the pollen. It could sure be handy in the future. Everything else sure looks good. Those are some squat and dense little plants.

Yes, a moment of silence for the Dank#5, poor bastadge. Could have been a poster child for noob grow of the month :-) couldn't bear to look at it anymore. I have a problem though, I now think that they are all female... What looked like a pod forming on the youngest one now looks like it opened up and something is growing out of it.... but no pistils that I could see yet...

The biggest plant indicated female today, so that's 2 females for sure, and 2 likelys.

I guess that’s both good and bad , bad that you lost one but real good that the other four are female , they sure look like nice plants , I have a couple of questions that may be dumb , I’ve read that if a female plant goes through some kind of shock like not the right light or water or nutes it will turn into a male , well if you were to shock the male would it turn into a female ? or is it a one way street ? Also would there be any value ( health wise ) to let that male get bigger and then extract the oil from it ? Would it have sugar leafs ?

complicated we are ......
(no questions are dumb questions BTW) :)

a) you can slightly manipulate the outcome of a seeds' choice in becoming a male or female with a few methods
b) it's a one way street, but the mess up is worse then just turning a female into a male. shocking a plant at the wrong stages (or depending on the severity and genetics, a more severe shock will trigger it anytime) can cause hermaphrodism, where the female grows nanners or balls depending on genetic severity. in a light case, a couple nanners hidden in a calyx or two won't really hurt much, but in severe cases of full balls dropping along side the growing buds, the entire crop is ruined.
c) no value in wasting time/energy/space on something that will only very minimally produce any useable oil/hash. males are good for one thing, breeding (with the right genetics. don't go breeding with hermi prone genetics and feminized. these are ruining the gene pool IMHO)

Lots of good info from those links you put in there , I almost missed them , that will give me a lot to study . I skimmed over it real quick , will have to go over it better tomorrow . The part where they said a higher moisture of a seed bed would “ makes for an increase in the number of females “ --- Does that mean that DWC would help with the female/male ratio ?

Thanks EC.

So, I'm learning how to take clones this weekend. I plan to keep bonsai mothers of all females.... in my DIY crappy clone box, so not only will they be bonsai, but I plan to trellis them horizontally as the box only has 12" of head room. Nice plan, but I have no clue how to do all that shit I just said lol.

Here's some pics. Starting week 8 tomorrow. The Snow Goddess in the middle is starting to go nuts. My original plan was to flip after 8 weeks of veg and I will stick to plan though they would probably do well with another month of veg. Again, according to the original schedule, this will give me a maximum of 90 days of flower. The 303Seeds guys website calls for flower times of 58 to 70 days, so 20 extra days will hopefully be enough time to allow for the expected slower flowering under LEDs (thanks for the warning EC).

Finally, after all has gone to plan  I that will give me 2 weeks to chop, cure and dry... Is that enough time for the harvest? I have to have it all locked down on this time line as I will out of town for 2 weeks in mid July. Going fly fishing for Snook in Florida - sight fishing the beach , can't keep them as they are on the spawn then... But much fun. Snook are Florida's only redeeming feature in my opinion :-)

I like your plan. I was going to say, with the heights you are working with, you'll want to flip soon (maybe another week), so as not to overgrow the cab. I'd also lower the LEDs to within 12" of the tops (I had mine @9-10"), most panels don't have good deep penetration like an HID provides, and the LEDs produce almost no thermal heat to burn the tops like an HID will. gives and takes of the 2 technologies. combining an HID with LEDs will produce the best combination of results with the proper finish timing.

Thanks again EC, much obliged. Lights set at 10" and that leaves me 18" that I can go up till I run out of head room. You know, I never would have guessed how sensitive cannabis is to the moisture level of the soil. Yesterday the plants were vibrant and perked up, today drooped out. I think about 2 gallons ran through the Blumats last night and today. My fault, just can help myself from fiddling with shit and I had turned them up a couple of days ago thinking they needed more water. It took 36 hours for it to swing from a little on the dry side to sopping wet. Getting dialed in now though.

Do you all think this is a male pre flower?

Jesus Bubba, "quit playing with it or it will fall off." How about just wait a few days and see if a ball develops there? I grew out 10 regular seeds and decided to just wait and see and what do you know, it was obvious which ones were males after a few weeks. It didn't require macro viewing or serious study, but you will want to wait to be sure after all the work that you put in, so relax, light up a smoke and enjoy the glow from your purple legal lights! :-P:weed::leaf::peace::bigjoint::lol::mrgreen:

Things are looking great, Bubba. I understand messing with plants as I do the same too. They're super dang fun. :)

I'll be watching your clone process as I'm going to start that too.
