Need CLONING advice!

it is not adviseable to clone during flower but....take the smallest branch you can find and a new razor blade and cut the branch off at the base of the main cola taking care not to leave a big stub if you can and not to nick the main cola. now take the branch and submerge the cut end in a bowl of water, decide how long you want it/ where you will cut, and while submerged you make a 45 degree cut like you would a rose UNDERWATER..thats important that your doing this while the intended cut spot is submerged. then immediately roll in clone gel if available and place in party cup with holes in bottom and filled with pre saturated dirt..this cup goes into a ten gallon tank and covered with plastic wrap with a weak somewhat far away light above...mist twice daily and keep the dirt moist for about two weeks though with practice this will take 7-10 days. as far as cutting off the bud on top, hmmmm, id say you should probably cut it off but ive never tried this so thats not 100 percent. also you may have a lowered success rate since its in flower and with how long it will take to clone off a flowering plant as a noob and how small that plant is anyway, you are honestly better off just telling him grow from seed unless you had some special plant you wanted to preserve.

Really? I was reading around and people were saying it's best to cut clones a couple of weeks into flower once you know the sex of the mother plant so that you can guarantee your clones will be female? Also, I've already got the rock wool and medium ready I just need to know where to cut the plants for sure, so I don't mess anything up!

no no no....stay away from the rockwool, especially if you dont have clone gel...alot of people have success with rockwool but alot of people have issues with it too. if you want to only take one or two and make sure it survives you have better chances in dirt! also the proper thing to do is wait until the plant is sexed in veg..you should not force flower, so you should know the sex before cloning and flowering anyway when done the proper way. your bud will be more potent and yield is better when you wait for the plant to mature naturally and show its sex before flowering! then you clone it while its still in veg. i strongly suggest just starting from beans again but if you must clone it do so knowing you may possibly be running a science experiment and needlessly chopping pot off your plant!! first you have a chance to fail which will also waste time plus clones take a while to get that vigor back and grow well anyway so you can easily grow a plant from bean next to a clone and catch up to it, really the benefit is knowing you have a female and knowing what herb you will get off of it from the generation before...again cut it at the base of the branch..just cut the whole branch off do the underwater cut i talked about after which brings the clone to about 5 inches or so then make the choice whether or not to cut the bud off of the top....i say do it because that bud will leach all the nutes away while the plant has no roots i think...

It seems that many people have different opinions when it comes to growing. I read in a few places that you can't really tell the sex until you switch to 12/12 flowering and I've never heard otherwise. People say you can keep the plant in veg for a long time and it will never show sex until you put into flower mode. Also, when you do a Google search on cloning almost 90% of the people who's threads you see them using rock wool then transplant to soil. I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about, but I've just seen a lot of threads with rock wool. I am just trying to find out where to cut it. Like is my picture accurate? Or first cut down the entire lower branch like you said?

cut it any place you want ! makes no difference will be a bigger clone or a smaller clone . cut it any way you want no difference , just use cfl lighting, never mh youll be rooting in 2 weeks or less. and clone jel or powder or nothing. no difference,

theres no one way to do anything, youll notice kermit said 'its not advisable' that doesn't mean he said its impossible to take a clone from your plant. you can do it, your chance of success is a little lower than if you took it before flower or 1-2 weeks into flower but it could still root. i just took two clones from a flowering plant that is about as far along as the one in your pic, it rooted in 2 weeks. i didnt chop the flower or cut any leaves, there are no hard rules in growing marijuana. you ask one question youll get 100 different answers. the problem is that marijuana is illegal in most places and unlike say a tomato plant, there isnt any scientific studies that we can point to that says 'this is the best way to go about doing this or that for marijuana'. most everything is trial and error but we can take some things learned from other type of plants and apply it to our mj.
personally id cut it one node lower to make the clone a little taller. i wouldnt take the flower off or trim any leaves. if you get it to root and reveg, the little flower on top will send out many new branches and the clone will grow very bushy, unlike the mother plants tree structure. some people call it monster cropping, i just call it revegging.

People are wrong. You can tell sex during vegetative growth. I am 100% positive. I swear to baby jesus. If you have never heard otherwise you need to listen more. Or stop reading grow advice from high schoolers who grow in a computer case.
I can also assure you that 90% of people do not use rockwool for clones that are going into soil. I can also assure you that 90% of the search results on cloning did not say that.
Cut where your holding it. Then cut the lower leaves off. Leave the top. Then cut the stem at a 45 degree angle and put it in a bubble cloner.

dude idk where your getting your advice but if people are telling you you cannot sex a plant until its flowering then stop going to that place for advice because those people are simply wrong..and then after i tell you what is right (that you can easily sex a plant before flowering and how to do so) you tell me everyone else says you cant and ask for more opinions lmao...trust me i know my shit go look at my gallery. the adviseable way to grow is to allow the plant to sex before flowering as this is the natural way the plant matures, after 4 weeks for me and about 6 weeks for you you would see small pistils or pollen sacks forming regardless of the light cycle! also as you see others have agreed you may have a smaller chance of success on a flowering clone so there ya have it its best to clone from a vegging plant and i also was backed up on the rockwool thing as well if your growing in soil just stay away from the rockwool...i still suggest your brother just grow from bean, will be more time efficient at this point!
