Sorry that wasn't haha dumb question it was haha wow that is a lot of light for that tiny space. I would think a bit overkill and for someone starting out a pain in the butt to try and control heat. How tall of space? Can you duct cool air out. Think about your setup and possible items required that will take up space. Carbon filter, inline fan, ducting, ballast light additional area fans. Pots, plant etc. side lighting also requires space and produces heat. I would say there is no way to do a 1000 and prob not even a 600. I have a closet 4x2x8 with a 400 with small inline fan ducting hot air from air cooled hood into attic and at 78-82 and that's this time of year summer AC would need to be pumping. I think you could start with a 250 hps and side lighting. However what will prob happen is you will outgrow that space. You could like Donny suggested get a dimmable ballast and run your light at a much lower setting. That way if you do grow out of that space you have the equipment for a bigger area. Hope that helps!
