Are these autos even worth space?

So the real question is....has anyone personally ever found true dank in autos?

I grew out 30 plants outdoors last year. Mostly Think Different, couple Afghan Kush Ryder/La Diva and 1 Blue Mammoth.

None produced dank smoke. Most produced garbage. I had 1 decent/borderline good pheno, if you were a lightweight you would probably like it and it'd probably be strong, as it was it just barely worked for me but tasted pretty good - like bubblegum - and had some bag appeal. That was out of I think 26 plants, I forget off hand. Some others that weren't garbage, but it was mostly garbage.

La Diva wasn't very good either, but better than TD in stability it would seem by a large margin (both plants were near identical). Smoke quality was below the best TD pheno but above the rest of them.

AKR smelled Kushy at least I guess. I didn't notice an effect when consumed. Decent bag appeal I guess, not much else.

Blue Mammoth had a good flavor and ok bag appeal. Was better smoke than all but that one TD phenotype.

Summation? Cannabis is a really complex plant, so whenever you breed in significantly lower drug quality plants into a line, you are not going to be able to avoid degrading the line and maintaining the traits you desire. This concept isn't really a new one as there are a lot of watered down regular lines too.

Its more a matter of wasting time ...
With auto you got way les chance to find dank pheno and you cant even clone it ....
so fars with all reg seed i start i always find 1 pheno that i love and enjoy ....
with auto i got 2 nice pheno but i cant clone it so use your logical Auto = waste of time ... All the real grower say the same ^^
But if you growin in a really limited space maybe they hot their place ...

Actually, a real grower would say not all auto's suck, and they have their place.
Biggest problem is people will try a couple along with their regular grow, but don't spend the time with auto's as they do on their regular plant's. I grow both, and to say auto's taste shiity, don't get you high
not worth growing, just shows ignorance on your part. They wouldn't be catching on like they are if they were no good. People don't have to grow auto's but they should realize how uneducated they sound
when they spread nonsense like that.

If they were total trash, you are right. But if you only grow and smoke autos, then many will probably be "dank". So autos are marketed to people who want easy grows without a bunch of different time schedules to worry about.

I don't know what you did to your plant's, but last year everyone picked my Afghan Kush Ryder over my other strains because it rocked your world. If you didn't notice an effect from your AKR, you did something wrong.My Blimburn Orient Auto's are frosty as fuck and can't wait till they're done. I have never grown an auto that was no good, and after 33 years of daily smoking, I think I know a good buzz. Harvested a couple of auto cheese candy last week, got little under quarter pound, have ten more ready in mid July, and then my normal
fall harvest of photo period plant's. So maybe if you all keep spreading this misinformation around, less people will grow auto's, seed prices will drop, and I can get my shit even cheaper. Maybe you all should jump over to the autoflowering network website and talk to some people that have given auto's a real chance.

Most of my auto freebies go in the trash. The ones that don't get thrown away go to a friend who is slowly coming to the conclusion that autos are a waste of time and resources. I really don't understand the whole auto thing.

OK, I see where you are coming from and you do make a good point there. Even though I have had good luck with auto's, I would never grow just auto's, they just make a good filler between harvests.

To me that is part of the problem of wanting to find that most potent strain right off the bat. What do you do after that?

The AKR I had was frosty but did not have a strong effect at all. I only grew 2 plants, so I didn't get a good representation. But the two I did grow would never compare to the elite Kushes that go around these parts. You can claim misinformation all you like, I just gave you my honest experience on top of throwing a little genetic factoid on top. Marijuana is incredibly complicated. It would take a breeder 10s if not hundreds of millions of plants to sufficiently bring a Ruderalis infused line on the exact same level or better than a non infused line - if it's even possible (and it's probably not).

is the fact you can have a perpetual grow in one box and its a true perpetual
i have found a few danky auto's
and yes you cant clone them but if you know your strain then you know what the pheno you like looks like you either gib it or use pollen on hand to try and salvage some of it for genetics
ill agree that the no cloning sucks
i can say this much ive grown only auto's for a couple years and they are way better now then they were just 2-3 years ago
cant always blame it on genetics some times its just how its grown

It's not that I don't respect the people who grow autos I just have a problem with the plant itself. They are just weird. They don't grow like regular cannabis and it just doesn't seem right. Some you can see the rudi influences and that creeps me out. The smoke from the ones I tried ( I don't even know what they were) were weak. They smoked weird. You would get this really quick high and then it would fade within 20 mins.

But people who grow them have their own techniques and lingo. You guys have your favorite breeders and fanboys who worship them. You grow mutant plants so you treat them like mutants. You grow them under LED lighting in shoeboxes and computer cases. LOL....It's all just WEIRD...But respect to you folks that love the alien abortion known as AUTOS!

you would have better odds accidentally finding a better one
but at the same time
since the auto most appeals to personal growers
the pheno swing isnt always a bad thing
out of a 10 pack you get a handful of different plants
adds a bit of variety
just my 2 cents
