what kind of bloom nutes are you getting?

Still honestly not sure, been doing some reading on a basic Schultz Cactus 2-7-7 and hearing some good things, I've got a nice $25USD Amazon gift card so as long as i can get something w/shipping up north if not within Can I'm open to suggestions. I've heard good things about Dyna-Gro's bloom/flowering stuff. Definitely open to hearing what others have to say !!

Heya johndeere, welcome to the thread ! Going with the 12/12 from seed/cutting tends to end up on the smaller side (Please don't cut off my head, I know ppl get some great results) however the shorter life span IMO ends up working out great for personal stash type grows. Thanks for the compliments, the dresser design is something I've always wanted to do but just never got around to doing it. Something came over me 2 months ago, and I was compelled to do so and just pulled the trigger. It can definitely be improved upon, but for now it's working great !!

Little Update this afternoon; I went out to get myself the rest of my 2700k bulbs to have this flowering done right and lucky me I found a 4-pk of 26w 2700k's for dirt cheap, they're usually only in packs of 3 or bigger. The reason 4 is a score is that it allowed me to remove the 13W I had going and replace it with a 26. So now the lighting is as follows; 1 x 42W (6500k) + 6 x 26W (2700k) so hopefully that'll help just a tiny bit more !!

You know what's funny B, whether you already knew this from reading earlier or not, I'm actually using the PureBlend Pro Grow. I'd used it maybe once or twice thru the whole veg month lol but the rain water seemed to be doing well and didn't really need the extra nutes. I know a hydro shop that sells it but they want $25 for the quart. I'll have a look around amazon in the coming days and see if I can find the PB Bloom cheaper.

You know what's funny B, whether you already knew this from reading earlier or not, I'm actually using the PureBlend Pro Grow. I'd used it maybe once or twice thru the whole veg month lol but the rain water seemed to be doing well and didn't really need the extra nutes. I know a hydro shop that sells it but they want $25 for the quart. I'll have a look around amazon in the coming days and see if I can find the PB Bloom cheaper.

Have you looked at BPN? Im going for those, it gets huge props from almost anyone who trys it. I have heard they sponsor folks to do grows though, so good marketing sense might have something to do with that

The BPN seems very interesting potentially for the future, this time I'd like to try and get something off Amazon simply cause it'd be a great use of funds, when real funds are rather limited at the moment. Well, like you guys have already talked about i am a fan of botanicare. They offer you the ability to order "free samples" you get a quart of up to 4 of their products for 16.00 us. For me i needed supliments so i got Sweetberry and Calmag, Clearex for flushing and thier powerclone. The power clone was a 1 oz bottle. This is a steal as far as i was concerned.

Still doesn't help with Amazon gift card though

yeah man..idk what the grow is made of but the bloom is fish meal from the sea, plus humates/humic acid, plus a couple harvested micronutes (when this isnt even necessary, fish emulsion has every macro and micro nute youd ever need!)

dump synthetics into the cycle via emissions or man made chemicals, ruin the quality of the cycle. drop organics and keep the bacteria alive that then break down these nitrates for usable food to plants, and then there is food for the livestock..the first nitrogen has to be organic though and full of organic life

synthetics like tiger bloom, bpn, general hydro, scotts work equally good, esp since were not watering an entire huge crop outdoors. those are the devetasting hits to the leeching (zone under roots that plants cant reach, leeches into our waters) and air pollution via emissions

on 420mag they give this stuff out 24/7 to the plant and nug of the month winners. the link says its all from synthetic nitrates. eh..

im gonna try the biobizz bloom for my next grow and let you guys know how it works as a stand alone product..full organic from molasses and sea kelp. the biobizz grow is from just molasses and is a lot thicker..wish the bloom was nice and thick.

yeah I may just have to bite the bullet and drop some cash I really don't have over at the overpriced hydro shop. I'll search around the city see if I can't find the botanicare elsewhere. I'd love to do a grow with all the wonderful additives and concoctions available on the market and perhaps one day I'll throw some cash that way and see how it goes. For the moment though, specially with a single plant unsexed I just don't have the $$ to toss about. This however leads me to an interesting question.. which before I ask, i've yet to read up on but here goes. Since i'll be keeping the lights and growing on a 12/12 schedule, what does that do in terms of veg nutes ? I mean even if we're forcing them into flowering straight from seedling I know it'll need at least some N, so would I just use a flowering nute and find a way (other than rain) to inject a small amount of nitrogen ?

no need to buy the same thing again. its the same thing just in different concentration ratios. if you want, find an organic P feed like bat guano to add on top the soil. that will add some extra p. the stuff you own already has the highest quality of everything youd ever need.

Well then, this will turn into an interesting little experiment then. I'll continue to use the PBGrow I've got and then just pick up a cheap organic P supplement. Thanks of course to b.real ! Saving me money at every turn ! lol The rest of the way through I've got things pretty well planned out, so we'll see what bumps in the road lie ahead !!

sweet. yeah it doesnt have to be bat guano, but i suggest going organic for that extra p. make sure you read the npk reading, becuase bat guano can have all different kinds of ratios as you see above with the fish meal products.

companies always do that, which is why i buy a 2-2-2 all purpose fert and use it for grow and bloom

Been doing some browsing around the organics forum amungst other things and there's a nice thread on Organic Tea's right here on RIU.

So now I'm thinking since I do almost always have banana's around here's a perfect and free solution to the PBGrow's low P value.

Here's the tea in question:

Flowering Teas:

Banana Peel Tea.
Origin: Bananas. Cheap to make. eat the banana, use the peels.
Provides: Strong Potassium Boost. ideal for flowering.
Preparation: after selecting 4 bananas, and eating the insides, place the 4 peels into a pot, with 4 cups of water (1L). You can also add in 2 tablespoons of molasses. Bring to a boil. let boil for 5 minutes. remove the peels. let cool. place in jars for storage.
Application: mix this 1 part banana goop to 2 parts water. use every 2 weeks.​

G'morning !

Not terribly much this morning for words. Plant definitely is starting to begin some stretch although it was doing so just before the light switch anyway, she's also continually popping out new growth left, right, and center. I mean like everywhere you look new leaves, stems are coming out of the word work so to speak. Despite the tiny watering 2 days ago, the plants drying out a bit so I'll be doing another smaller watering, with some PBGrow and I'll be making a banana tea this morning to add into the watering later. The banana tea will likely only be used 2 maybe 3 times total according to the Organic feeding thread however I'll play it by ear and give the plant what it asks for. I included a picture of the cabinet with the plant in and then without, what do you guys think ... Raise the lights or give it another day ? (Keep in mind, I'm not a total noob, i for the most part know what I'm doing, I'm just happy to keep the discussion going and hearing other opinions. That helps the other readers learn more too, or perhaps even answer their question without asking.)
