Haha cool, its a long haul actually not that long this one. Total weight was 2.5 give or take but it could have done more, I reckon bother week to ten days. It was delicious seeds man. I'm not keen on dinafem

How high is the water level in your reservoir? Seems to me the only way water can pool in the hydroton is if the water is to high.. It should be up near the bottom of the grow chamber when you start, and then drops until the next top off.. The empty air space between the water and the roots, when the water level drops, doesn't hurt the roots. The water running down the roots will keep them healthy.. When the roots are through the bottom and growing strong, I fill right to the bottom of the grow chamber when topping off..
The pumping column will move about a gallon an hour through the system. That's a lot of water in a day.. Even without drilling more holes, there's no reason for it not to drain.. I use the foil until there's enough shade from the plant.

Wow weight seems far less than what the plant looked like. Ive heard great reviews about dinafem and not so much about delicious. How was the smoke on your CJ?
Thanks for the info Mytwhyt. Basically i just keep an eye on the level tube. I fill it up until the water is just about to flow out of the top of the tube. You reckon that could be the case? I have a feeling thats it. I have a 10L bucket which i fill and that just about gets the water level close to the top of the blue tube. Bear in mind i have the European version of the waterfarm. Should i not bring it to the top at all? Your logic is very sound and so straightforward! cant believe didnt catch onto it before :/ But on the other hand why does it seem to pool up only now and never before in its 7/8 weeks of life?

Thats way to high, you only need to fill to the white tape on the blue tube.. It's there to indicate the fill level. That will bring the level to about two inches below the grow chamber.. When it takes off, filling up to the grow chamber gives a little more to work with... They will use a gal. a day or more when healthy. Dropping the water level will take care of the water logging...
When you've added back the same volume as the reservoir, in plain water, it's time to drain and make up a new solution.. You can start doing the add back with mixed solution when you get more familiar with your farm.. With an add back of mixed solution instead of plain water... it's easy to bring the solution to a level toxic to the plant.

it was only in a 3.5 litre pot, n wasn't really vegged that long before i chucked it in. buds were solid as rocks. the smoke wasn't to my taste to be honest, a bit peppery spicy taste to it but the high was nice no immediate edge to it just nicely stoned. overall 6.5 out of 10 lol.
i got the european version too. really wish it was the smaller square one. damn thing nearly fills the full tent.

Mytwhyt you my friend have saved me from potential catastrophe a second time around! thinking back now it seems that the root mass is quite large hence the water being pushed up. It never pooled up before. As for the level to which to fill, this waterfarm has no indication on how much to go by :/ Maybe because its the european version. the US and Canada version is far better than this one. Thanks again buddy. will bear that in mind when filling her up. And yup i do fill with nute water depending on how much the ppm's have dropped. so i just add whatever is needed and bring back to the original amount. I change the res once a week and just top off the rest of the days
Your a gent!ahh ok. well i heard really good things about the smoke on this one. Maybe if it had gone that extra week or so you would have come out with some very nice smoke. Just hoping this one does fairly well. To be honest with you guys i dont notice the taste or smell. Weed all smells the same and tastes the same here. we get what we can and always mix with tobacco so really difficult to pin point taste wise!

don't get me wrong, it was still fine smoke, i just wasn't wowed by the taste. i generally mix with tobacco if i'm outdoors toking without my bong too. you should be able to taste the weed though hahah that or you may be putting too much baccy in your j's man?!

Ya mate here in ireland we make our weed go a long way! its so damn expensive so a little extra tobacco helps it on its way

Cost me about 20quid. i think my worst fears have come back to haunt me! the only way i could get the airstone in the waterfarm was through the blue tube. It was a 4" long stone and i had to remove the rubber grommet from the bottom of the farm. When i emptied out the water already in it i smelled what i smelled in my last grow. Im not sure if this smell has just come about or that i didnt pay attention to it the last few times. It kinda smelt like dirt so i have a feeling root rot is setting in yet again! I threw in about 60ml of Cannazym and changed the water and nutes today. so will be keeping a close eye on her the next few days to see how she looks. Maybe thursday/friday il stop with the cannazym and give her the liquid oxygen. I feel pretty shit now cos of this and have my fingers crossed its not root rot!

Hi Jasper. That smell don't sound good at all. If It was me with poss root rot I would be flushing her with massive amounts of water and H2O2. I don't really think you need to be spending so much of your hard earned money on expensive nutes like the zymes and liquid oxygen .. the H2o2 is just as good really.. I been using it for a long time and it works great! Im so glad mytywyty stepped and helped out with his most awesome vision.Hes really brilliant. I think he should start the waterfarm club.

Then I pull out about 6 inches tubing and stick a big ole round air stone on it.. eventually the roots will suck it up right into the middle of the ball and just suck on it, yumm...lol.... hope things will correct themselves for you..

So an easy way to mark this is to empty your rez completely and then fill up 2 gallons and fill the farm.. then mark where the 2 gallons fills. shit I hope your tube is see-through like mine. Seems like the aqua farm is a lot different.why in earth cant you get the one I have ? its so weird all ukers get the aqua farm thing.

Jasper, I think the space between the solution and the bottom of the top chamber draws the roots into the reservoir.. As long as the plants are in water, in the grow chamber, they're content to stay there. Once you get your roots cleaned up your plants will surprise you..
We definite want you to have plenty of meds, mostly so you can stop smoking that nasty tobacce.. You can actual use that stuff to kill just about any bug that gets on your girls.. if you don't mind smoking tobacce juice..
There's no reason you can't get 6-8 oz a plant.. Scottyballs got 8-14oz with a 400hps... under 90 days. In my book he is "The Waterfarm Saint", and should be canonized.

We definite want you to have plenty of meds, mostly so you can stop smoking that nasty tobacce.. You can actual use that stuff to kill just about any bug that gets on your girls.. if you don't mind smoking tobacce juice..

Thanks for the info Amber. The only extra nutrients i bought were Cannazym and GHE flora bloom for this grow. Have to say Cannazym worked great so far but i think its the end of the road for it. I think its confirmed. Defo have root rot setting in! such a pit in my fucking stomach! im definitely not going to grow hydro again after this. It really has put me off growing altogether. Reckon if i do get the courage to grow again it will be soil all the way. Its the temps here that are causing it and today i emptied out the res and added water and liquid oxygen(which is 17.5% h2o2) hopefully this well help it combat some.
Since the temps are being troublesome i dimmed down the lights to a 250 hps with my Lumatek ballast. id rather less light and the plant survive than more light and it die. Mytwhyt gave some good info but i dont think it worked. It has to be the root rot which is pooling the water. Took some pics to where i added the water level to and where it is now and the top chamber. Looks fucked tbh!

Id love to get anywhere close to 5oz but with this root rot setting in looks highly unlikely. as stated above if i do grow again it will defo be in soil! Lucky for me i havent had any bugs or the sort in either of my grows. If it does happen i have some neem oil lying around which will send the bastards on their way
Posted up some pics of the res as you stated adding only 2 gallons. Not looking good im afraid 
liquid oxygen is h2o2 at 17.5% so started using that today. fingers crossed it works!

Not seeing this in person, I can only image how disappointing this is for you. Im so sorry to hear the bad news. but Please don't give up Jasp. when the rough get get going the tough get going. Its a challenge but maybe you can save this girl If you try , you gotta try.... I have seen some bad root rot and those plants had been suffering with it for a while with actual leaf deteriation .. YOU don't have that do you. ?
.. WIth help I would take her otta the tent , separate the buckets and hose off bottom buket roots really well and I would put the girl in the sink and blast the hydroton pebbles with my sink hose really well. Can we see some root rot pictures if possible?
Then keep running the liquid oxygen ,

Thanks for the kind words folks. Im not saying im giving up on her just in future i reckon soil would be better as hydro is far less forgiving especially if your a newb For now all i can do is just add water and liquid oxygen and we will see how she fares. Im leaving for the weekend tomorrow and will be back monday so i wont have a chance to put fresh water on saturday and sunday. Have done this before and never had any harm to her. She drank fuck all water yesterday. But heh like i said im not giving up on her yet
Regarding the leaves, i pulled off a good big handfull of leaves that looked sick ( as in the pics below) more than i had removed all through its 8 weeks (other than trimming below the canopy). The thing is that noone else knows about this grow and id prefer to keep it that way so would be really tough getting her out of the tent or even lifting her up due to the scrog screen. Im just going by the smell in the top chamber and the smell of the water when i empty the res. Temps have hit 31.7c at its highest point so far( from what ive seen). But since i switched to 250hps yesterday temps hover around 28c. Im thinking that during the day have her on 250 and once nightfall hits switch to 400hps because of the drops in temps outside. Currently her 12/12 schedule is 2am-2pm off .
ANd finally regarding giving up on growing for a while. I might be moving houses after this grow as i cannot afford it anymore Lost my job close to a year ago. Got a masters and started worked in the financial sector for a year and got laid off and have found it near impossible to get another job! SO either im going to look for a cheaper place or move back home west with the parents until i get something. Would be gutted if that were to happen as im already looking for seeds, soil and pots for the next grow

Maybe you can talk your parents in to letting you grow at there house.Your leaves don't look too bad. maybe a lil cal mag def.
It sounds like a great plan you have and by the time you get home after the weekend, she will be back to health again!!!!

Ohh the lord! wouldnt even tell my parents i smoke the stuff let alone grow it they arent happy with me smoking baccy so weed is definitely not even in the equation. So i left my room for about 3 hours today and closed all windows and came back and she was sitting at 31c with 250hps. it was fucking hot in here! i dont want to leave my windows open either when i go away for the weekend so im hoping, praying that she isnt damaged too bad by the time i get back.

Folks quick question. The easiest way i found to keep temps down is turn the lights on at night. Now my question is that with 20 days already into flowering could i change the light schedule? It is currently lights on at 2pm until 2am. If i were to change from say 8pm to 8am is there a chance of the plant going hermie on me?
