bulb identification needed

hello ganja smokers of the world!

i bought a lamp from a friend. beeing a newbie grower i have no idea what kind of light it is. But i have learned that there are a lot of different lights/lightbulbs etc..

so, can you, by looking my crappy pics identify for me the type of light that shines for the bulb?

grateful for any help

i bought sylvania spot-gro 120w lights from lowes..are they any good? it says there made for indoor plants

They are meant for flowering but you can veg with them too, you can also get a Hortilux bulb which has an improved spectrum...

You want cfl's not "grow lights" which are really incandescent bulbs with some blue painted on the end. Daylight for vag and soft white for flowering

actually some of the newer ballast enclosed lights are more expensive than the remote ballast that comes with the bulb on cables.

Why would they do that? a ballast in the hood would just add heat that would otherwise be transfered outside the grow room, Via a remote ballast....
