He took over the college loan system. Now the government confiscates your money through taxes, loans it out to college students and makes a profit on it... Does that sound right?

What I'm looking forward to with the ACA is:

1. having medical and dental healthcare
2. not being turned down or carved out of pre-existing condition
3. no waiting periods while i'm paying premiums ie; dental 6 months wait to be covered for any acute services
4. no insurance companies denying healthcare or services because of their intended profit margin off you is not where managed health wants it
5. paying approximately 50% less for monthly premiums..my COBRA was 600$/per month until it ran out..oy vey, such a deal!
6. no longer having to pay out of pocket for expensive medications that are 200$ and 300$ per month because big pharma wants its cut too..
7. mandatory health creates health/premium pools and we are better off in the pool..trust me I worked in the industry

I am on Obama care now and it does not include dental...I just went to the dentist and it did not pay anything except it covered a few dollars on my meds and that was it...just so you know...

I am in oregon and they already have obama care available for purchase...There are adds on TV everyday for COVER OREGON which is ObamaCare...I had Ins through the state and last DEC I got letters that stated I was now on Obama care which is called cover oregon...

I pay 580.00 per month....I think you are thinking about welfare people...I was on the oregon health plan which was for people that couldn't get Ins and now it is Obama care called cover oregon and it cost more than ever and it goes up 80.00 per month every four years until I reach 65..And by then it will be700/800 per month...And that is for just one person...

I use the term awesome all of the time, things used to be stellar for a while

Im in no way suggesting Obamacare is an end all fix all situation but it is a start.
What is known is that preventative care helps people live healthier lives.

I want to touch on a couple points in this thread.

Costs: It is well known that doctors and nurses are not paid as much in Canada as they are in the US, this
led to a severe brain drain in our medical system as people would train here and move to the US to work.

It has also been proven that the private clinics have driven up costs across the entire system.

Now, I want to provide a story from reuters ( I trust reuters to be credible enough) which shows that Canadians
live longer than Americans, surely this is not due to some third world care that seems to be suggested through out
this thread.

Obamacare is not perfect, but it is a start down a healthier path for all Americans.

How so? We've taken greater steps to take personal responsibility off the individual for health care. Convince me this increases our health.
