everything there can be grabbed at home depot, you need a 10/32 tap , the misters are Digs brand. you could even buy the pump at home depot but they're proud of their pumps.

Ye as

Yeah because if not you're gonna create some unwanted heat running 24/7.
I use titan cycle timers that have a variable on off rate.

Hey guys and gals,

Not try and high jack the thread, but I wanted to ask dbkick a question. Db, have you ever just used a 5 gal, home depot water cooler? You know those one's you can use for a job site kind of thing? I want to try running two dwc buckets, but I have hot temps as well and don't want to get a chiller. But I am stuck between buying two 5 gal home depot water cooler/buckets vs. 1 igloo cooler and do sometime of an rdwc. The 5 gal's seem more appealing because if I am doing a mult-strain grow, I can handle ppm's and pH easier. Thanks!

If you do individual 5 gallon buckets, wrap them up with 3 layers of reflectix from home depot / lowes and use 1L ice bottles once a day. That should drop your temps a good 12 - 16* F. I have used 3 different types of coolers, the reflectix insulates just as well, and even better than my small coleman cooler cloner. I have never used a chiller, how many amps more or less do they run to cool 40 - 50 gallons?

Hey I haven't gotten a chance to try the team water jugs out but I've been intending to for awhile now.

Best solution I've found: (And it's best in RDWC/UnderCurrent - Single buckets is pretty impossible to do EFFICIENTLY)
Get a Stainless Steel WORT CHILLER, and a 1/10 - 1/4 HP chiller and run cool water through the metal WORT CHILLER coil and set that coil in your res. The steel cooled by the water will then cool your res/nutes.

Look on craigslist and I bet you can find an aquarium chiller at a decent price.
Why the wort coil ?

I just run the res water thru the chiller and it waterfalls back into the res and adds oxygen
