I told him to toss it, but am thinking, how often do you come across weed from the 70's? Anyone else think it is worth something for some study, or do you think he should just toss it?

Check for seeds. If you found any it would be a long shot but worth trying to sprout.

I think seed hunting it would totally be worth it. You might just come across something really special if any of them sprouted.

Unlikely yes, but still possible they could sprout. Have you seen this 70s weed? Being from back then its completely plausible the genetics could be from anywhere in the world. I've never seen weed older then about 10 years, and it was basically powder from being in a bag that long in a dresser kinda thing (not mine, a friend found it when he moved).

Had a friend drop a nugget behind a dresser. He thought he found it a year later and a bunch of us tried to smoke it. Tasted like what id imagine smoking cat shit would taste like. But most of us can agree it might have actually been cat shit. Lol

I heard of a guy that bought an old VW hippy van from the 60s or 70s... he took it apart to restore it or something and found a secret stash spot in the van with like a qp in it or something from the 60s. pretty cool. no way in hell could you pay me to smoke that shit though. why would you wanna do that to your lungs??? really, you think itll get you high??? it barely got them high lol, like 4% thc 45 years ago... today, its 0% id bet.

They could potentially contain genetics that don't exist today. Being from the 70s they should also be very pure genetics, not a massive polyhybrid like so much is today. I suppose for the beginner to average grower they might not hold anything special. To someone that could work with the genetics they could hold gold........like pure columbian gold for example.
