Guns don't kill people, gun owners kill people.

On a side note, I just bought a pristine Beretta 390 semiautomatic 12 ga. shotgun for my birthday yesterday. Broke 44 out of 50 clays at our local course this morning. I highly recommend you add this remarkable firearm to your collection if you come across anyone foolish enough to part with one.
44 out of 50 is damn good shooting!

I have been wanting a semi-auto 12 gauge for quite some time. The choice is (currently) between baretta, benelli and browning. I will break down and buy one soon.

I am amused at the progressive morons posting in this thread.

Florida and Texas are #2 and #3 , along with #1 CA and # 4 NY in murders by handgun. Where I live in CT, we had 64, including the 26 killed in Newtown. So apparently the states allowing more people to carry hand guns legally, kill a shit load more people than your average bear (pun), meaning Texas and Florida in particular, where the right to carry is not to be infringed upon. But I guess all those death's were just citizens protecting their homes and families, etc. That's the excuse always, and it will always be bullshit. The criminals do not make the gun's they use, the buy them from people that bought them LEAGALLY. That's the fucking root of it all. They just are too easy to get.
Is that corrected to a per capita?

Consider: abusus non tollit usus.

The study was fucking ironclad. A four year old could tell you that more guns = more shootings. You're the one with some irrational fear born out of the Turner Diaries and your argument reveals that quite plainly.
...how can you say it is ironclad? ...how do you know that the study was done without bias?

and you making assumptions about me is just you making an ass of you.

even a 4 year old knows that liberals are biased and lie like rugs to win the argument, look at all the global warming 'science' spouted by that moron Al Bore, lol, thank God that idiot wasn't elected back in the day.

...and your passive/aggressive manner is offputting to say the least. ...but then that's how you liberals do.

...so you can continue to whine for gun control but in my house gun control means good aim so if you want my gun, come and take it.

...now you can talk to yourself and the other liberal whiners, me i think i'll go find a discussion with people who aren't so convinced they have the right to dictate what i do or own.

Thanks Bozo. I agree about liberals, though that is all we agree about. Funny you mention assumptions, then make an assumption about my political convictions. I'm not a liberal, of any sort. At least my assumptions about you were based on your arguments, apparently you didn't even read mine.

You're justanotherbozo.

The opposite of progressive is recessive, and I am amused buy you support of the later. Life is too short to go backwards. Been there, it sucked.

Please, after you buy that new semi-auto 12 gauge, don't turn around and sell it to a criminal. They do buy them from people that purchased them legally, don't ya know. I mean, that's the root of the problem right there. lmao !

No.
I agree that there is no total security solution, or total security. No "deciphering" please.
Of course I agree and admit that many own guns because they like'm. However liking them and worshipping them, as you implied before with your mention of Gun Culture (whose existence i also admit), are distinct.

And to be honest, most of my guns I own simply because I like them. But for a few others it isn't so pure. I bought a gun I don't like as much as my "shooting toys" because I bought it, and treat it, as a tool.

It s that gun's utility as a tool in an unsafe society that stays me from entirely going with your argument. I see legitimate need.
It wasn't a troll attempt. I thank you for responding in such a way that I could make the point I had hoped to make with this thread.

Nice. You act like you are quoting a statistic, but you don't post a reference. Where in hell do you get these lies?

It seems that a few "morons" misinterpret my point. Less unrestricted or illegal hand gun purchases would reduce crime in my opinion, that's it. And you guy's are pretty funny by the way, keep up the good work, my popcorn is almost ready. Oh, and moron seems to be the word of the day, eh? Let's see how many more times you can use it. I guess as long as I post, right? Cool

More BS. Prove it. I say it is not so. Legal gun owners don't associate with criminals. That's the point.

No it won't. You have only opinion based on lies. The facts prove otherwise.

I agree with your point, more guns = more shooting, but I just don't think bans are the way to solve it is all I'm saying.

It is a tough puzzle to solve.

You rarely see a list of Why to own a Firearm?
heres a list of why to own a firearm (or several) :

Hunting. if one does not use the right gun for the right critter you make a mess, or fail to take the critter cleanly, thus one needs shotguns, rifles in various calibers and a pistol, just in case you need some quick shots to defend against a random predator or for a coup de grace.

Personal and Home Defense: shotguns and pistol for 2 legged threats, shotguns and rifles for 4 legged threats. (and a minigun for 6 or more legs)

Target Shooting and Competition: baseball bats are also "deadly weapons" but without them, baseball becomes a game of "Catch"

Guns Are Fun: plinking, and just popping off rounds is enjoyable. but remember, safety first.

Required By Law: every male between 16 and 60 is required to own a firearm "of a type in common use" for possible militia duty. the lack of enforcement of this law does not invalidate it.

Tradition: my grandfather gave me my first gun when i was 12, his father gave him his first gun when he was 10, his father gave him a gun... on back though the ages. i would not surrender my guns for any reason, since my most prized gun is the very one my Great Grandfather gave my grandfather, which he left to me when he died.

Why The Hell Not: as an american, who is not a felon, nor insane, it is my right to own a firearm, or even MANY, thus if i choose to exercise that right, it is my privilege to do so.

Because I Feel Like It: neener neener neener.

Say's you. Check the FBI stats and then come back and apologize.
You apologize first as I have brought fact after fact and you have posted nothing but opinion. Dig it up yourself.

I have posted link after link and you nothing.

Links that base their data on 5 year old stats or are shills for the gun industry, why don't you use something that counts, and you do your own search on the FBI web site. Then come back and argue some more, you sophist.lol

You live in Canada, right? How many murders were committed by handgun in that country last year" 200, maybe? That is the body count in NYC ALONE. Do you think it has something to do with ease of access to handguns, or are the people in your country just nicer?
Handguns are banned in NYC, genius.

Good work torpedoing your own point tho.
