1 yeah I want single payer with a private market for those who want it or employers who want to offer it as well. But this is the best we got. it is better than nothing.

Why is it better? If you were not a fan of our previous system, why root for something that further entrenches that system?

What exactly do you think this bill does? The pre-existing clause is righteous, it shouldn't take 20k pages of taxes to get there. Seriously, other than simple, 1 paragraph rules you like, what do you like about this?

Sorry, Cheesus, I'm not here every day. If you advocate a single payer system, then I agree with you. This bastardized forced insurance, is not what were working for. I support fully socialized health care, but I think that private functions should still be allowed. Like our schools. We have public education (which mostly sucks), and private education (which only somewhat sucks) (Both mostly suck because of government involvement). Let people have that choice. Open state based charity hospitals that will take care of anyone. And let private hospital's do as they have been.

I can't believe our paid representatives can't see this simple solution. You don't like the free health care pay for better. From what I hear England has this kind of system. The poor complain that they don't get the best health care, but they get free health care, so they're better off than Americans.

We could have community based free clinics and part of your healthcare education could be mandatory hours at said clinics. There are so many better options out there than O'care, yet people are still fighting to keep it. Is it because it's cost neutral? no, is it because it will lower premiums? no, is it because you can keep your present insurance? for the most part no, is it because it will lower medical costs? ffs no! Is it because insurance companies have less say in our care? no, is it because they opened up pharmaceutical to be more competitive? hell no. So what are we left with? What's the attraction so strong we are willing to shut down government to keep this?

And if the plan doesn't work what we will be left with is monopolized insurance, less competition in health care and less freedom of choice. The health care industry was involved in writing this bill, they are making adjustments every day to maintain their wealth and status. Costs will be passed on to consumers, individual clinics will close, private practices will necessarily become part of the hosp corp and our shitty system becomes even shittier because of lack of competition.

If the plan was to bankrupt the system at a time when the largest segment of our population is reaching medicare age then they are ruthless fucks who have no business representing the people's best interests. I try to empathize with those who wanted health care reform (who didn't?), but it's really disheartening to see that some people actually think O'care is reform.

What concessions have been made to congress and the American people? Obama's not negotiating, he's said as much, he's been given a budget that finances everything but O'care. Obama has not presented any bills to congress, he has however presented 2 separate budgets to the Senate that got zero (as in none) votes, not even from a dem. No bill has been sent to him to veto either because congress/senate has not agreed on one. Your claims and argument are completely in your mind. Please link where I said Obama vetoed a bill or introduced anything to congress other than say gimmie everything I want THEN we'll negotiate.

The health insurance industry spent over a 100 million dollars that we know of fighting this law.
They lost
Now they have to spend 85% of their income on clients and they have to compete with other Insurance companys. No more regional monopolys
