Anyone using FoxFarm nutes (DWC) have a brownish goob on your plants roots?

Is this normal cause its organic? Its more like a thick goo that hangs on the roots, but its not slimmy....?

Sorry but I got called back to work and had to take off.... but here are ( unfortunately ) the best pics I can take cause of my cheap camera.

My temps range from 73 to 76f, I hope it's not a light issue cause they all sit in Black buckets, Humidity is at 20%, I started Hydrogen Peroxide treatments 5 days ago - maybe I got to wait longer to see HyPer. effect. From what I have read, some growers say this happens when using organic...but I'm new to this - rather have you look at them.. Thank you.131205_0000.jpg131205_0001.jpg131205_0002.jpg131205_0003.jpg131205_0004.jpg131205_0005.jpg131205_0009.jpg131205_0010.jpg

The plants were just topped 5 days ago and seems to be doing good up top (growing/sprouting) but look at some of the lower leaf coloration(a lot lighter then the rest) Also look at the three leaves near top which seem to be curling upward on their edges as if heat burn, but I got lights far enough away that I am afraid that they might stretch, plus got fan running. Please let me know what you might think it is....

It's called root rot. Not hard to combat. Look it up on Google. It's definitely not normal. Roots being exposed to light and high humidity levels = root rot.

No i am not and I am taking a guess at water temp no more then 71.....
You can't post a pic? That foxfarm nutes I don't know much about but I'm pretty sure what your experiencing is normal. Root-rot will be followed by a bad smell and the roots will just fall to pieces if handled.Something about beneficial micronisims or something like that. I wouldn't recommend peroxide or something similar right now.

Yes, I forgot about that, read that they would smell bad, but no smell but the nute's smell. They don't fall apart cause I would wipe the root between my finger tips and the goo will come off, but the roots aren't very white like I see in everyone else's pictures. 50% of the roots are a light tan in color..

They(roots) will die the color of your nutes. As long as you see no difference in growth I would not worry about it. If you smell nutes then all is good and if the roots don't fall apart then that is also good. If the roots smell like fresh cut potatoes then your good to go.

What kind of air pump/stones you got for your buckets?
I just use regular 4 inch ones:

For the pump:

Two people in a row with weak ass air pumps? I use a commercial air 3 with a 6 bucket system and will be upgrading to a Pondmaster ap-100 eventually. Although my controller bucket is 20 gallon and Rubbermaid Brute 44 gallon rez filled with r.o. water. No air stone in controller bucket. D.W.C. with no chiller is insane and that's probably why you have slime. Pick up the Active Aqua 1/10 and you will never see slime. I also run aquashield but probably don't even need to.
