I've researched the cost, turnkey setups can be had for around 2.3-2.5k. I've been doing lots of research, but that's the thing there isn't very much besides the summit documents. This is something I am very interested in pursuing and will not be dissuaded.

I've been researching distillates myself as they are the most versatile concentrate available and the process involves no solvents. Found a few Short-Path distillation kits on Alibaba for $460, but just not sure about ordering from China at this time.
Sounds like you are overcomplicating this. IMO get rid of that thing, put a dome over them, and just leave them alone. IME seedlings like ph'ed tap water. If you want to get fancy you can put a heat mat under them.
Thanks to modern times and changing perspectives on things. A lot more of us are able to take part in this hobby legally. This is something I've always wanted to do, so you can imagine the time i'm having in my garden.
To me it looks nute burnt that soil is probably too hot for it right now. Seedlings need very little nutrients at this stage. I save soil from old runs and use it for my seedlings as the nutes are mostly depleted. It should grow out of it.
If you can, dim the light or move it up so it is...
They do sell tent material on Amazon if you're OCD like I am. Buy some of that and some of that 3M spray on glue. Shouldn't be able to tell the difference.
