    ocean forest soil

No i wouldn't add anything. I clone my plants using just tap water and a cup. Potting soil is fine, although personally I would have went with a seed starting mix like Fox Farm Lite Warrior. Main thing now is to mist the leaves a few times a day or put them inside a dome and mist the lid.

My experience smoking from a corn cob pipe.

I went to a tobacco shop that a few close friends recommended and I bought some New England Maple tobacco and a Missouri Meerschaun corn cob pipe. After smoking a few bowls of the New England tobacco mix and really liking the smoothness of the pipe, I wondered how my organically home grown DNA...

    First Dry Ice hash

I think you did a great job. It's dry ice hash, so yeah it's going to be a little green. A lot of the plant material turns to dust with heavy shaking and that low of a temperature. Once you do it a few times you'll get better at keeping it at a lighter color. Having multiple bags or screens...

    anyone use straight compost ?

Generally as long as it's organic you can toss it into a compost bin. You don't however want to just toss a bunch of things into your containers. Another thing to conciser is how fast you need your compost to be fully broken down. If you plan on turning it 3x a week and want it ready under a...

    anyone use straight compost ?

I don't do it with cannabis seeds, but I've done it with corn, tomatoes, peas, and a bunch of other fruits and veggies. The only reason I don't do it with cannabis seeds is because I typically don't get 100% germination doing it that way. Instead I normally get a 60%-80% success rate and then if...

advance nutes 3 part micro, bloom, grow

I used the Sensi lineup a few years ago. It had that pH Perfect in it. I still had to pH, but it was always the same so mixing fresh batches was pretty easy. I did get some light leaf-tip burning when I followed the directions, so I just backed off and it all worked out fine. I even called their...

Really cheap way to grow and easy thank you?

Everyone has their own way, but this has been working great for me. 5x feminized seeds = $40.00 8x organic potting soil 1.5 cu ft bags = $35.00 1x bag of seed starting potting mix = $8 1x 8ft untreated lumber = $8.00 1x box of nails = $4.00 1x bag of organic dry fertilizer = $8.00 1x soaker...

    No smell :(

I had a batch this year that didn't have a strong smell. I fixed it, but it was completely on accident. I was trimming my plants outside and smoking when I left a large glass jar filled with weed outside right before it got dark. When I woke up the next day I remembered I left it out, ran to go...

    bout to cut! any tips?

I'm not sure how your growing, but I grow outdoors with organic fertilizers and lots of composted soil. It kind of sounds like your messing with the hydroponic nutrients so the rules might be different for you. I haven't needed to feed my plants since mid-summer and as far as watering goes, I...

    downsides to COLD drying (40F)

One time I left branches hanging on a clothes line and forgot about them for a few days. When I checked on them they were yellow like dead grass.

The dozens of No Namers on Attitude

To up his post count why else. Oh and to the OP, I'm the same way. There is simply to many strains out there and because of California grow limits I'm forced to be extra picky about which seeds I buy. So I tend to go for those that came from breeders with a good track record. It takes more then...

    downsides to COLD drying (40F)

Cold and low humidity go hand in hand. The cold isn't a problem per say, in fact one of the benefits of a cold environment is it reduces the chance of mold, however if the humidity is to low the buds will take longer to cure (if they can cure at all). I try to follow the 70/70 rules which is...

Have bad eyes, should this be harvested?

I'm harvesting my OG #18 today. I'm sure waiting a few days won't hurt, but honestly your plants look ready. The main thing i look for is growth coming to a near stop (white hairs still randomly pop up here and there), the buds should be plump, and most if not all the hairs should be brown...

pics of beautiful plants after a California rain

That happens to my buds too. Usually just the tip of a nug here and there will die and everything around it will look fine. I've always ignored it and figured it was caused by outdoor pests or the heat. The same thing happens to my roses.

    Harvesting ???

For me its harder when they're dry. I pluck big and medium sized leaves by hand within minutes of cutting my plants down, then I follow it up with scissors to shape the buds. I'm actually harvesting right now as I write this. Just taking a quick break. I think this year I'll leave the shaping...

Have bad eyes, should this be harvested?

She looks ready to me. I see lots of red hairs and swollen sacks. However, on my plants the leaves start burning at the tips from lack of food. Have you stopped feeding yet?

    First attempt at cloning

Yeah, two weeks is average. I usually root my cuttings in old paper towel rolls filled with a seed starting mix, but your method is just fine. With the way I do it, I don't see anything until the end of the second week when all of a sudden they just explode out and by the third week the roots...

do i dry first then jar then trim or trim then jar

After cutting, I pluck the leaves by hand, then shape them into pretty little nuggets when scissors, then I hang and later jar & cure. In the past I tried cutting them while dry but that turned out to be more work. I also used to use the scissors to remove the sugar leaves, but they get gummed...
