I think it would be best to use a ventilation system to ensure proper heat circulation in your grow room even if it is a large space. That way, you can be sure that the heat from the grow lights will not burn your plants.

I also want to try LED light but I don't want to be wasting money on it later on. Is it really cost-effective? How about the grows, are the results way better than those grown under HID lights? I hope someone here can share his experience in using LED lights. Thanks :)

Hello everyone, when it comes to lighting, I noticed that most of you use 600w lights instead of 1000w. Is the result better with 600w? Has anyone tried 400w?

How far are the lights from the plants? Ideally, the distance from the top of the plant to the light bulb should be between 12-18 inches away, this is the case for a 400w hps . Since you're using a 600 watt light, you may go a little farther than 18 inches or you can switch to a lower wattage...

I guess doing that will only risk the success of your yield. I would suggest that you stick to one plant per pot, that way, the plant will have all the nutrients it needs especially when it transitions from one growth cycle to another.

Yes, it is possible that the leaves are drooping due to lack of water...I also think that it may have something to do with the roots...what nutrients are you feeding them? It could be receiving too much "unwanted" nutrients that's why the leaves are drooping...

So far, I think carbon filters are the best tools that can be used for odor control in the grow room. I read in some forums that the use of air fresheners can also help to tone down the smell but I don't think that will work...anyone, who has used that before?

Yes, the smell can really become very dominant so you may want to use filters or air purification system to help tone down the smell a bit. You can also opt to light scented candles to provide a whole new smell in the room.

I never had problems with white trays and just like what disposition84 said, white trays will never absorb too much heat which can be difficult to contain later on.

Sterilizing your equipment should always be your top priority. Using hydrogen peroxide is good since it can really disinfect and clean your reservoir very well.

I love the method of hydroponics because even if you are a novice grower, it is very possible to produce the finest crops. I am also thrilled to know that growing melons are possible with it :)
