$1,300 on a LED light? HYDROGROW LED'S

I went for a Vipar V240 off ebay for about $150 equivalent, it's where they sell their older stock of previous ranges and I couldn't afford the new B series! They've got a Vipar US site too.

I chose this one because I read in a few places that the bandwidth ranges were important to get right and this was the only one I could find with IR and the wider range of bandwidths that I could afford.

The quality seems very good, being a complete noob grower I can only compare it to computer components, I build gaming rigs and the tech is similar so after examining the light I found it to be strong and well built and actually a lot better than I expected for the price.

Oh and the staff are really helpful too :)

As you can see at the top of the pic, 2 300watt LED. I do supplement underneath with household CFLs.
I got 5oz dry of this Pineapple Kush and I just finished 2 Clones off her. Still not fully cured, so I can't give a dry weight yet.
This is the actual seller I purchased these lights from.

Very nice! Good to see some nice results from china LED's, sounds and looks like for the area and number of plants you have good coverage. One thing I've seen here is that many who don't have good results are under-powered grows, with sufficient coverage and a decent light you can get results...

With any grow More Light is better, I will always supplement my grows with CFLs tho, Im not a big fan of lollipopping plants, I want as much as I can get. Popcorn buds smoke just as well as the main colas.

Agreed, I don't understand the big deal with popcorn either, other than if your driver is selling it, in which case it's low-value or no value. I use it all, any of my popcorn/small bud goes into oil, hash or edibles.

Ew no.. You could get 6x Vipar "400w" panels for $1,200 (ebay) and be pumping out 2,400w with movable panels each individually stronger than the one you posted. Also, LED's don't usually put out the advertised wattage since that's the max and they don't run at full power or they wouldnt last very long at all. The "400w" panels from Vipar have been reported by some to run around "actual 250w" which is great for the price ($200 less than $1 per watt).

All leds run at 50 to 65 percent of the watts they're rated for. So it's not just vipar.

Like right now I'm running an led with 150 x 3 watt bulbs (450 watts right? Nope!) it only runs 330 watts. It's to extend the life of the bulbs, it's how they have that 50'000 hour lifetime.
