Once again the U.S. Coast Guard has done another exemplary job of keeping illegal imports out of our domestic market. Well done guys and gals, thanks for keeping my prices up!

"Federal authorities seized a 27-foot power boat off the Ventura County coast that was loaded with almost a ton of marijuana, U.S. Coast Guard officials said Tuesday.

Two Mexican nationals were arrested.
Lt. William McGhee said the drug shipment was discovered early Monday morning after the Coast Guard responded to a report of a disabled boat about three miles outside Channel Islands Harbor. A search and rescue team discovered 77 bales and packages of marijuana after boarding the cabin cruiser.
“The boat reeked of pot,” McGhee said. “Packages were in plain sight.”
McGhee said the power boat was towed to the Coast Guard’s Channel Islands station in Oxnard. The shipment, which weighed about 1,900 pounds, was probably from Mexico and bound for a destination along the Ventura County coast, he said.
Local law enforcement officials said Monday's seizure and arrests represent the seventh drug smuggling case of its type in Ventura County this year. Drug shipments also have been abandoned in the ocean, but those incidents did not result in any arrests.
