1 Week Till Harvest - Its UGLY First Grow w/pics

I gave this plant (crap bagseed) a 2 week headstart to practice on as my WW was germinating. The 4 WW ended male and this what I will have to show from my first grow up till now. The gal has been nothing but ugly cabbage looking since its first set of leaves. I gave the plant hell with temps in the 100's as I was working on the room. Not to mention bad soil, nute burn, tons of cuttings even in flower.

During flower it went really yellow and large fans leaves fell off. Then it got really green as the leaves came out of the buds. Now I am headed back down the yellow road.

Let me tell you these pictures do WAY to much justice for this plant. I bumped the main cola against the canfan and the damn thing hasnt grow right since.

I have all my issues worked out and can not wait till the next grow.

I hope there is some WW in there somewhere. It appears to have formed seeds but only time will tell. I pollinated this bud.

I could of been alot better but I am happy and I have learned so much. What do you think ?

Wow, that looks like my first grow. Except you apparantly have a better strain that I did. :)

I'm on my second grow this time, I think I was too conservative in flower with my nutes. What do you attribute your yellowing/browning to? Just curious how you plan to correct this next time...

I am attributing most of the plants yellowing to natural causes. Bad genetics maybe, it was from a pretty bad run of outdoor seedy smoke we had. I even put a few joints out in her before I knew she was the only female I would have. The WW looked so good and smelled insane, she has a little smell.

I cant tell you how much I have learned.

HAH I am starting to have my doubts. I cut a little off the plant and hung it to dry. It was very light and fluffy after drying and has very little smell. I am thinking about waiting a little longer before I harvest the rest in hopes the buds will get a little more dense. I dont think I am going to get far with this one but I cant even tell you how much I have learned. Both of my rooms are rocking and seeds should be here any day now. Going to start a grow journal on the next one :)

Well I dont think its going to smoke so nice. A small part is in a jar and smells more green than like bud. I am now thinking of going longer than Friday but most the hairs are looking yellowish. It has almost no weight at all dry, lower buds I am talking.

Yea shit man...dont be so hard on yourself, most people don't even make it this far on their first attempt...I am speaking from experience on that one!
But...I assume like everything in life, ya learn from your mistakes and do better the next time....and get giant ass colas the size of cans

Well I thought I would post back as today we just sampled some of the bud. 90% of the plant is still growing and it looks like we got a 1/2 dry but it likely weighs about a 1/4 or slightly less.

We cut 3 of the lowest branches, one of which I experimented with LST on. Hung the branches for 2 days and have had the buds in a jar for 2 days airing a few times a day.

The jar has very little smell at least not a good one, however when we touch the buds they are a little sticky. When we broke them open they were a little moist and smelled decent enough to smoke.

We rolled it up losely in a paper and it didnt burnt great but enough for us to smoke. Its been 30 minutes and the two of us are still high. I can not wait to harvest the rest of plant. I am still a little bummed about the overall smell but I am not as worried about the smoke.

Friday I think is harvest so I will post back some pictures...

If you had removed the spent leaves, I'm not sure that there would be much of a problem. Spent leaves can block light.
Your buds look healthy to me.

You aren't drying and curing for long enough, not even close, thats why the bud seems so bad. It takes patience bro, dry a bud for a good week, and burp it in jars for a month or two, then your bud will smell and taste better, and get you more high. Dont smoke the bud if it seems wet at all, it wont burn, you'll barely get buzzed and it will just be frustrating.

Yeah good job...sometimes bud doesn't smell as good as it is. Give it a little longer on the curing like others have said. But really good man. Good luck
