Lights out around 65. I close the window at night.

Bulb has to be around a year old now. Its still pretty bright.

I run a 1000W in a 4'11"x4'11"x7' DarkRoom hut, so similar setup. I experienced the same exact thing from the same mistake on my last grow.

I was manually watering by taking my plants to the tub. I would shake them vigorously to get out all the water I could but it packed my dirt down so hard it was like rock solid when it dried out. My yield was shit, like 215 grams from 6 plants under a 1000W (not good) .

I just harvested my second grow last night. Same mother plant and setup, but this time I was much more careful to never pack the dirt. I also didn't veg these ones as long as my last ones. From the looks of things, it looks like I yielded anywhere from 3-4 ounces off each plant. A huge success. I am like 95% sure that the poor outcome of my last grow was from packing the dirt so hard and not only suffocating my plants from oxygen but also from water because the dirt could not be penetrated it ran down the sides.

How old is your bulb?

when do u frist feed them?

whats the ppm and ph of feed?

do u run co2?

do u use anything like regen-a-root?

whats the temp of your soil?
I feed them a half dose of 6-3-4 pura vida grow thier first feeding then a full dose after that. and 2-6-6 pura vida bloom with a half tbsp of molasses for the flowering plants. I ph every feedsing to 6.2.
Dont know the ppm and I dont run co2 and I dont know what the other thing is. My soil temps have got to be between 70-73 degrees.

Holy cow. That must have been some tight dirt. What soil was it? Mine is loose enough so the runoff water trickles out noproblem. And its not too loose to where media washes out of it. But I'll try cutting some FFOF with some light warrior. So I'll keep in mind that tight dirt is not a good thing.

But mainly these plants arent even growing a root system. I could have grown this plant in a fucking styrfoam coffee cup.

http://www.canadianxpress.com/regen.html regen-a-root.

get yourself a ppm/ec meter, very import tool for a grow!!

I feed them a half dose of 6-3-4 pura vida grow thier first feeding,,,,which is when???? 1 week after tranplanting,,at tranplanting?
do u feed every time u water,,,,or feed,water, feed?

I know they are pain in the ass question but the more we know the more we can help.

sorry, I toatally forgot to answer that question. The clones get a half dose thier first feeding after transplant (I also sprinkle benificial microbes on the roots. Roots oreganism)then full doses after that. But feed water water feed for both bloom and grow formulas.

C'mon people. the mystery is just starting and everyones leaving this thread dry.

Why are the plants not growing a root system? What do I need to do?

i know that pick is 10 days to harvest and the fan leaves should be yellow, but there are not many left on the plant and the ones that are still there are shriveled and crispy. So at what point in the grow do you start loosing all you fan leaves, what are the symptoms you first see.
do you have a hood on that light?
maybe put something reflective on the pot that the plant is in to cool it down a little, the black will just absorb the heat and stunt root growth. Put a fan on em too
i would say add some hydrogen peroxide to your water to get some air to the roots, but not if you have the benneficial microbes, it will just kill the bacteria.... so maybe put an airstone in your water before using it to up the disolved oxygen levels in the water.
hang in there bro there are plenty of people on this site with way more knowlege than me, im sure well get to the bottom of it

So I got a pretty cool set up: 400 watt convertable MH vegging moms and rooted clones 2' X 4' 120 cf/m exhaust, underneath that space a 4 lamp t5 fixture for seedlings and rooting clones 2' x 4' and in the bloom room a 4' x 4' x 7' high sunhut, 1000 HPS, thermal heat shield cover over hood to contain and extract radiant heat, 640 cf/m exhaust fan. Im using pura vida grow 6-4-3 and pura vida bloom 2-6-6 and molasses for blooming plants. My temps are in the low-mid 70's, I keep the window open so cool air is being sucked over the bulb. I flower plants around 18-24 inches and Im growing little pathetic twigs with sparse amounts of bud. What am I doing wrong? I even got high times dvd on how to do this shit and I feel Im doing it by the book. According to "hans" on that tape I should be harvesting about an ounce per plant. Am I mistaken. I assumed more light more bud but my last harvest was so weak I felt like I could have grown better weed with my 400 watt.
This kid I know observed me one day pushing dirt firmly into the container, full enough that the dirt doesnt all float away to the top and leave a big sink hole when water flows through. I use fox farm ocean forrest by the way. So he says to me that because Im packing the dirt in Im acctually suffocating the plants. And when you transplant that its necessary to "break up the root ball" to get aeration again something I ve never heard of. And he added that he knows of at least 5 growers who "laugh thier ass off at other growers that pack the dirt in around thier plants because Your not supposed to do that???? Is this true???
.

Hey man you might want to try using an oscillating fan during your vegetative stage. I actually use a box fan suspended from the sealing that rocks back and forth set on high. This works especially well with the ScrOG method in my opinion because it forces the plant to grow short and stalkie. My plants are 2 and a half weeks old, the stalks are an inch around, and the plants range in hieght from 7-10 inches.

anyone know why the plants arent growing roots. The roots should be on the verge of root bound when I harvest. So the plants arent growing roots is why Im getting such low yeilds. What do I have to do?

i know i every time i post here i mention temps .(sorry) but what is the temp of your soil around the roots?. does'nt matter how you grow if the roots are to cold you slow root growth which= small buds.

only trying to help find the answer . are pots standing on a concrete floor for instance? in a cool climate you can control your ambient easy but things can still get cold from the bottom up and not notice.

Thanks dude. My tent is on a carpeted floor and at night the temps dont go below room temperature. There has got to be something Im doing thats not right. My soil drains water fine. I feed every second watering, everythings organic. Ph my water before feeding. But somethings off to get little tiny buds that stopped growing on thier 4th week.

So no one has any other ideas besides compact dirt? Like I said I dont force any dirt into the containers and my containers always drain water out. But Ive decided to cut FFOF with 50% light warrior to see what that does.

I ws hoping to get alot more responses on this issue but it seems all of my threads I make dry up without any clear answers.

Ok, how big are your pots? Seems to me that you need at least a 3 gallon pot, maybe a 5, give the roots room to grow and search out nutes.

From the stretch you have..the light might be to far away. Put your hand underneath canopy ..should stay there for4-5 seconds without burning your hand.

Dont pack the dirt. Look up a good soil mix on RIU.

I will bump this thread too and let some other people get a look at your plant and give you some advice. Good luck bro. Dont give up and learn from your mistakes.

My light is 2 ft away from the tops. I use fox farm ocean forrest soil and as I said Im not forcing dirt into the containers Just fill them up enough that the dirt doesnt settle below the stem when I water.

I use 6" square containers and at this point the plant isnt even making enough roots to fill it out. I pull up a plant out of the container and there are no roots. What could be happening?
