1000w HPS??

How many plants could you put under a 1000w HPS Lamp? Also would it be better to get just the HPS or The MH, Or The System that has both of them Combined? ( So I could switch between the 2).

Just get a lumatek digital ballast Lumatek System I am 100% HPS currently but should I decide to try MH at least the option is there. Tell us about your space, IMO anything less than 10X10 is going to need some serious ventilation. 5X5 you better have AC on 24x7. Good luck

How many plants also depends on how you are growing. If you are using soil and your pots are 8"-12" then not that many. If you are growing hydro in 3" pots 3 to 4X as many. Or you can use a system like the picture below and do hundreds in the same space.

As for the bulb type.
Everyone loves the HPS but I like the MH multi spectrum. Here is why
HPS puts out little to no UV light. MH put out a lot. Crystals/THC is created to protect the plant from UV. If you dont give it a reason to protect itself it wont make as much. HPS does have a huge advantage though. It produces a higher yield. Do you want more pot, or stronger pot. I recommend the ballast in the post above and a MH multispectrum bulb

personally i roll with mh threw the whole cycle..for flowering i use an enhanced red spec bulb...soon thow i would like to get is an 1000hps to run simotanosly...running both at the same time is the best for you get the best of both worlds..

so you're saying that millions of years of evolution and genetics can be thwarted in 3-4 months because of a light bulb?

UVB spectrums do make better for better buds,to experiment with this just get yourself a facial tanner and give the plants a 20 minute tanning cycle every 2-3 hours

Genetics is half of the equation. The other half is is environment. Can a genetically superior plant survive without light? Marijuana is the fort plant to be grown indoors for 50 years. Look at the difference it has made. Nugs in the 80's are mids at best now.

Thanks for all the info guys, Im using a whole room dedicated to growing, Prob about 6-10 plants, Hydro ( DWC) With 5 Gallon Buckets. Im also Planning to go big instead of small plants (Ex..Sea of green).

well the more light the better...remeber with hid for proper bud an plant growth...42watts per square foot...take the aera in the grow room an divide it by the watts an thats how much you'll have...
