11 plants in one pot! help!

so about 3 months ago my friend grabbed a hand full of seeds, threw them in a pot, and hoped for the best. now theres 11 4ft tall plants in 1 5 gal. bucket. where should i start on this dilemma? because im thinking the roots are going to get intertwined.
 
CAREFULLY separate them into their own pots & go from there. With 11 plants, you should still have a few left after you fuck the first couple trying to separate them, by then you'll get the hang of it :)

DONT just kill 10 of them.. unless you want to. as mentioned, you MAY be able to separate them, & even if you don't get them separated, you SHOULD still be able to get more than one out of the mess.
 
got the same problem in my compost bin/oak barrel, anyway got a shit load of wild tomatoes growing in there haha. clone some??
 
they are 4 feet tall so it is going to be almost impossible to separate all the roots but you can try. Try to get the soil as wet as possible and then pull all the plants out of the pot and then shake gently so the roots become dislodged from the soil.
 
i would do opulling them all out as well, you can turn the bucket on a side and roll it around and massage it to break up the soil that might be stuck to the sides, also trim the roots out of the drain holes so they dont snag ya, good luck! Or you could clone the whole lot, and have about 20-30 nice newbs
 
never going to happen. at 4 feet. pull them out of the bucket and put the giant root ball in the groundbury it up to the first set of leaves and dont wait around get it in the ground. and it you cant put it outside then kill 10.
 
I would say do not try to seperate them. It's too late, the root ball is going to be a mess. Transplant into a huge contanier so they all have new root room to grow or in a big hole outside. They shold prosper more this way then yanking them all out and ripping the roots...

My opinion is to not seperate at all but just givet hem a ton of more root space.
 
yea, your right, seperating would damage more than 30% of any given plants root system, therefore greatly hindering the plant even more.

Guy if your having to ask the question, it means you dont know what to do, i merely told you to tackle the rot system to give you a learning lesson, the hard way.

Next time, dont let them get entangled [x]

Agree with this, you don't want to kill any of them unless its a male and you don't want your girls to be seedy. Also, if you really, really want them to be separate plants then you can clone each of them and give them each a pot :)
 
Op hasn't said where the plants are cycle-wise. Seems to me it any solution would depend on this. To me, it would be different if it were late veg, for example, or mid flower. So, plants are 4 ft tall, seeds sowed about 3 months ago. Well into bud, right? If so, I don't think I'd do anything lol. You should document this with pics. Beneficial to the RIU community.
