Looks pretty simple, and easy. Only non-household thing is the pump. It could have been a little more descriptive, but it looks simple enough. I wonder if you could do a simple 2 plant version of that.

I only looked at the basics of it; just enough to build it. I have enough pumps here. Might use a few 3 Liter bottles too.

I think a 4 plant would make it a little more worthwhile. Seems rather scalable of a system.

Ya, I think a 4 plant system would work better with some 3L bottles. I don't understand the basics of hydroponics or how its supposed to work, maybe I should look into that.

Actually I bailed for now and went for just a flood/drain tray.

The prob I had was gluing the bottle caps in. Since they are HDPE, no glue really sticks to it.

Aww, I think I'm going traditional ebb and flow tray style like you went. I just have been trying to decide on building it my own, or buy a setup. I have only 4.5 feet in height, so not sure if I can fit it and make it work!

yeh how is the root system gonna be able to breathe with no room? dont get me wrong, i know NOTHING about hydroponics, but the bottle ends just look too small to use for pot plants. I was on the brink of buyin this :

DripBucket6.2 Hydroponic System 6 Plant+ Control Bucket - eBay (item 110294896455 end time Oct-05-08 18:19:01 PDT)

but im gettin so many mixed opinions about havin not enough room for my root system even with 2 gallon buckets, that im stickin with soil for now. Goin with what i know until i move into a bigger space and can experiment however i please :) good luck tho bro
