So I was reading some info on going 12/12 from seed for the entire grow and it got me wondering..

Has anyone heard about it or tried it starting with clones?

I just moved some under my big lights and they are going on 18/6 for now.

Informed opinions please...:bigjoint:

12/12 from clone, i've heard you get about 10 grams if that, But that also depends on th esize of the clone.

this is something i wanted to try also... post a pic
yes, this is a great method...zero veg time (i have done this for years). i flower at 6 inches or so and i get 15 or more grams each consistently. here is a pick of 5 plants. this is great because they dont take up much space, they are easy to manage and you can get 1 nug plants if you prune right.

as far as 12/12 from seed. this is a no go. the seeds take several weeks to be mature enough to even produce buds. that is why clones are so great, they are all fully mature and ready to flower, and they are all fems. so try out this method and enjoy the fruits of your SOG labor.

I have use clones for a 12/12 from rooted clone grows before.

+'s for clones:
1) All female.

-'s for clones: (for my strains the way I grow)

1) Two extra weeks to root.
2) A little smaller and a few grams per plant less yeild.

this is A good 12/12 thread with a few posters. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/175581-12-12-seed-club-show.html

this is my 12/12 grow at day 62 https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/151253-12-12-seed-harvest-1-a.html

If you post questions in them you will get lots of 12/12 grow help.

hope this helps

I prefer to grow out my clones a bit so that they can get a nice good energy reserve. I flip mine when they have nice big thick dark green leaves. :bigjoint:

I upgraded too a 400 hps in January and my first grow is bagseed 12/12 from seed with great results so far. I am slowly transitioning into big bang clone and kc mango clones I'm putting 6 in the flower room every week. There is 6 big bang and six kc mango already in also this weeks strain going in is hempstar and then next week i'm putting in white widow. I'm using 6 inch one gallon pots i was pretty sure i could yeild 10 to 20 grams per plant. Also some of the clones have been rooted for and extra week or two. Do you think the 10 to 20 grams is achievable with 6 inch 1 gallon pots. Also here is a 12\12 from seed bagseed at about 6weeks maybe 5 hard to tell when to count when using 12/12 from seed she is about 20 inches in height. Also there is 11 more bagseeds in this run she is just the standout

pic above looks like the leaves are burnt a wee bit...if you go straight to 12/12 with a clone i think you run the risk of it turning herm...I would def veg for a week at 18/6, and of course this all depends on the schedule of when the clone was taken..

to answer you, yes it is poss in 1 gallon pots to get up to about an ounce with a 12-16 inch plant. good luck, this is how i grow.

this will not herm a clone, they are fully mature because they are cut from a fully grown plant that has already sexed. not to say they never herm in this method, but it is more environment than anything. just root the clones for a week in the pots you are using, then flower them. piece of cake.

With good mom strains your not gonna herm and an ounce a plant sounds pretty damn good to me probably take a few grows to get dialed in that good though but i'm pretty sure i can produce 10 to 15 easy now

a fully grown plant would not be ideal to take a clone from. Of course it would be sexed because it has to be big enough to clip from in the first place.

what? this is nonsense. what are you talking about? i take clones from my 3 yr old mother plants. this gives you good tall clones that are sexually mature. a large mature mother plant is THE IDEAL plant to take clones from. i am a clone only grower and have been for years. maybe "fully mature" wasnt the right choice of words. but the age of the plant is irrelevant after 10 weeks or so.

But you can still get a clone that has hermed over time...light schedules of when it was taken and what its put in to, environment, etcetera...
Yes you're right a MOTHER is ideal to take a clone from....For you to have a mother it has to be a certain age, with the sexual traits you are looking for. Your light schedule on that mother has to be atleast 14+hours on otherwise you would start flowering. Age of a plant is never irrelevant if its 10 weeks or 3 years, you're still relating a time period?!
