I've had my babies on a 12/12 for a week now, they are a fast finishing strain (about 40 days to finish flowering) and I haven't seen a sign of sex yet. Now is this normal for a fast flowering strain? And let's say I see sex signs at the two week mark or something do I stArt counting the 40 days from there? Or dose the countdown start as soon as I start the 12/12?

takes around 2 weeks for sex bro.

buy a $15 60x pocket microscope from radioshack. harvest when you have 50-60% amber trichomes

its starts when you switch the lights over. Take note and use your calculated time for a more precise guideline next time. How old were they before you put them into flower? where they clones or from seed? Plants from seed need a month (id recommend 2).

I'd say they were about a month and a half ballparked before i started flowering them and they were from seed. I wanted to flower early because I'm using fluros. Now I have a 400 watt hps comming in the mail now but I wanted to get em moving before it got here

be sure you harden them off to that new light start out with it far away and gradually move it closer to avoid stress and possible hermies

Should I really worry about the hermies because I'm switching
lights? Will this matter if the buds have started to form? And how do I know if it's a hermie? Pistils and pollen sacs?

is it a big worry no, but going from flouros to a 400 will shock the plant and this is something you want to avoid when in flower, just start out with it like 3 feet away and move it closer each day gradually till you get to where it should be this will reduce the shock/stress and you should be fine

Ok I'll do that for sure then. I really just want these
to be done flowering so I can stick my 3 great white shark girls in there, there about two feet tall now and vegging like mad, but I don't want to risk pollinating them by sticking them in there with the non feminizied plants lol, it would break my heart to waste them like that

its ok just take them out the second you are sure they are male. Its easy. If you are on top of things then pollination WILL NOT happen. Its takes some lazyness and overlooking for sacks to pop open.
