I have a 12 x 18 flower room...I'm hanging 8- Radiant 8 1000 watt HPS lights.
The 12 inch Fantech fans move 2000+ cfm... alledgedly..
I've read a lot of arguments about bearing life and turbulence..
I'm hoping someone has some actual real life situations to share...I'm leaning towards pulling.
Thanks for your input.

Bump interesting question. I need to cool 2 600's. If a 12 will do him for a 8 will be "OK"

Always pull, that way any 'loose' air gets sucked up also, but with such a large room I would be considering 2x 8 inch systems, both sharing a 14 inch exit, with 2x 8 inch systems can be further divided by each side have 2x 4 inch sub systems, no matter what you go for jus keep the inlet passive..

I have a room with a 12" on six 1kW 8" hoods.

I pull from the hoods then blow thru an inline ozone generator followed by 20+ feet of duct and outside via wall vent.

Works like a champ. I used snap seam galvanized ductwork for most everything with 8" takeoffs for each pair of hoods.
