120w LED lights

I cant belive why there is no good threads about LED growing results...

Cause people who use them realize how crappy they are for the investment and have to go spend more money to buy the proper lights, which they should have done in the first place..
I have $200 and 270 watts worth of LED's sitting in a box in the basement.
Want em?

Edit:: and personal feelings aside... you can veg a plant mediocre-ly (is that a word?) under LED, they produce light and fluffy buds when used during flowering. Mind you that isn't the "new" technology I'm sure you're talking about, but I'd say the reason you don't see result threads are that the results are less than steller and people don't want to "brag" about it.

$50 and i'll take em

are the the cheap ebay leds that are less than 1W per piece anything smaller is not very sufficient for growing really

They weren't the "cheap" ones on ebay, they were the 5 watt LED's I believe.. but yes.. the cheap ones off ebay.

They looked cool anyway..

Like I said, they worked ok.. but for less $ I went with a 250 HPS to veg under, which I'm likely going to upgrade to either a 400 or 600 watt as soon as I can afford to.

600W HPS is tried and proven. Not many people have reported successful grows with the new high power LED's, mainly because they're still relatively new. They look very promising but simply beyond affordable for hobbyists like myself. I can't drop a grand on one light.

Prices are going to need to come down before LED's gain wide acceptance and that's assuming they deliver what they promise as far as replacing HID lights. Until then we have to rely on those that are bold enough(and well-funded) to give these lights a whirl and report back with their findings.

Maybe using 300w LEDs that 12k lumens allrdy... and maybe drop some cfl's for white light... maybe it can work out great?

There is also much talk in the led community of wavelengths, amperage and cooling issues. I haven't seen more then two moderately successful grows using mid to low end LEDs that didn't offset with CFLs or use insane amounts of leds. Just not practical for most people.

L.E.D.'s are getting a bad rep because their are so many people and companies making the version of "LED Lights" its like the wild west out there today, I say check out GROWL LED - http://www.ledgrowlight.com/

I have nothing to do with this company, I just use their products, I like that they are a few states over in CA, I like that that speak English :) I like the direction they are taking their LED products, the only company I know of using 5 band (2 reds, blue, amber, green/white)
You can follow some people growing with LED's here -

This is my 1st flower with the GROWL, 2 weeks in, I am seeing better results so far with LED than I am with HID, No heat issues, no dry and hot, its cool and humid (bugs hate hot and dry)
I am loving my experience so far. :peace:

I ran into to a problem at my other set-up site. The water pump went out did not catch it until the next day. We are running 4 1000w HPS. You wanna talk about BROWN 4 plants are burnt to a crisp. They had buds big as a CodeRed Mountain Dew 20 oz bottle. It just makes me sick!! This is one reason why we are checking out LED's cause if we had them instead the would have been drooping not fried. Oh well we are making sure one of us are around more often.

Damn KenWood. Thats a crazy horror story.
Yeah I curled up in a ball and wimpard like a little school girl. It sucks past 2 months we have been haveing little things like checking on the clones and forgot to plug it back in so we almost lost 18 clones I think we lost 2. Someone turn the auto vent switch down and it was not opening. Just stupid crap like that. This is what happens when you try and run a couple of set-ups in different places.

yeah, the run around can make you forgetful sometimes.

I forgot about this seed i had set up to germ in a closet and came back to a foot long stretched out white tap root with two barely yellow leaves. Or forget to put the hose air hose back in a bucket after swapping out nutes.
