Hey guys.. I got a light off my brother the other day, its a 130w CFL but the strange thing is it says its 14000k. I've never seen or heard of a light with k (wateva k stands for) that high. I'm currently using it for veg..will this work?? Also how will it go when i enter the flower period? Any help is appreciated .....cheers bongsmilie

p.s. I already know about spectrum's and different light colours and all that info so that subject is irrelevant..I'm just wondering about this 14000k light cuz I'm clueless about it..

14000K lamps are in a spectrum known as marine blue. They are amazing for vegetative growth, but do not perform too well when flowering.
Try it out!

Are you sure? because i found a few articles that said they were kinda rubbish but not too bad. Also does anyone know if combining this 14000k light with like 50 or 60 watts of a 2700k light would help in the veg period?

How about you just veg with the 14000K and show us the results.
I want to know if the 14000K is useless with cannabis plants in veg

I spose I could do that but i'm trying a pretty intensive LST method so i kinda need the plants to be really reaching for the light... but i got no money atm anyway so its gonna be 14000k for a while

130W is good for one plant. Just have it in a box with foilage or white paint caturing 100% light. Add a fan too

Just doesn't perform as well. Although i had to use a 400w hps for a complete cycle a few years back, it still grows but ended up tall and straggly as against lovely tight colas and branch distance with a mh

Nah was me as well, poor setup that one and the plants streched (3 strains in one tent)! Defo huge veg difference with the right spectrum bulb tho.

They just grow tall stretchy plants...

Do a side by side grow in veg,
one HPS,
one MH...

Compare the streeeeeeeaaaatching, node spacing is everything
