this is my first indoor grow. i think it may fit better in this category. i've grown outdoor herb before but this is my first indoor attempt.

  • I recently ordered 3 different seeds online. They are all regular, non-feminized seeds. They're all small indica plants with the same flowering period and size. I got Blue Mystic, Northern Lights and Papaya.

I built a small grow box. here are the specs:
    • 2x2x3
    • 150 watt hps
    • 3 1/2 gallon pots
    • Miracle Gro Organic Potting Soil
    • Desk Fan
The box is actually just a frame that also holds the light. I wrapped it in a mylar space blanket and sealed the fan to the mylar to make an exhaust, which keeps the box around 78 degrees F.
The seeds germinated and the roots popped out yesterday. I planted them because I was about to leave for 2 days and didn't want them to die in the paper towel/bag. I'm planning on growing them for about a month, then putting on a scrog and flowering them for around a month.
This is my first indoor grow.. any advice, comments or criticism would be much appreciated. Have a good one

I'll post pictures within the next 2 or 3 days of the box and whatever growth there might be.

Ideally you'll want your scrog screen about 80% full before you start flowering, so that adds to your veg time usually. I'm also wondering why you think you can finish flowering your plants in a month? The strains you have will go 8 weeks at least so don't be disappointed when they're not ready at 4. The Northern Lights is a low odor strain, I'm not sure about the Papaya or Blue Mystic, but you're going to want some type of odor control. Have you given any thoughts about nutes? You're going to need something for a chance at a yield of any type. You have some things to think about here, and I'd suggest some reading on the topics I mentioned. A little planning goes a long way. Good luck in your venture, do your homework and ask some questions, nobody wants to see you fail.

sweet. ok i was a bit confused about how the whole flower time works out. but that makes sesne.. once flowering starts, then it's the 8 weeks?
they're all said to be low odor frow what i've read. i'm planning to get an ozone generator or possibly building a carbon filter.
i was told to wait a bit to give nutes, as i'm only a week in. However, i'll probably use some sort of high quality nutes, such a fox farms or something, in hopes of making up for my poor soil choice.
at what point should i put the screen up?

Whew lol..Ok well first of all check out what the recommended flowering times are for your strain...trust me folks would be all over a 4 week strain lol. Low odor is good, but a carbon filter is really cheap insurance regardless of smell, so check into that. You'll need nutes in a week or 2..I guess it depends on what you want to pay. Some guys spend way too much, but if it works ...well whatever. I believe a plant needs what it needs..buy the snake oil if you need too. I don't. I'll pm you with what I use... it's not much. Ph is very important..have a way to check it.

photo (5).jpgphoto (4).jpghere's the northern lights and papaya. the northern lights is the seedling with the 2nd set of leaves coming in. the papaya is the one that barely sprouted. this is all 1 week in.; the blue mystic is at about the same stage as the papaya.
