150w HPS??

anyone ever used only 150w HPS and results? Or unless getting 400-1000w HPS stick to CFLs?

A friend of mine has been using the minimax150 hps light,and has had a lot of stretch problems. He triggered flowering at 12" but they are now at 6ft,seriously sparce. Hes growing jack flash#5 which always did stretch but never like this. Only thing hes changed is the light. If you have a strain that doesnt stretch id say give it a go,keep it small as the light wont penetrate far at all. Good point is very little heat.

sorry but 150w hps are shit i had one last grow and my plants where so crap i killed them they took 2 months to grow to 2ft tall and just looked horrible i have since upgraded to a 600w and it takes me 4 weeks to do the same as te 150w aso a 150 is poor for budding unless your only doing 1 plant

I am actually having fairly good luck with my two 150s so far. Just keep me within 10inches of the canopy

One more thing, you have to remember that you only have about 1 foot in every direction from the center of the bulb. So you are looking at a 1 plant LST/SCROG or a 4 plant SOG as your best bet to use the light.
