170watts of MH or 192 watts of T8 6500k for small veg cabinet?

That is a pretty apples to apples comparison, not much difference if you have the height for the single bulb to spread evenly.

Its actually two bulbs, 100 & 70 in the same homemade hood, air cooled. I also have a 150 hps I used to use for veg, but im not sure about mixing them .
The three week old plants look great but once I cull the males and move a couple to the cab im wondering what my best options are for a few weeks until the can go out.

Mixing is great. Especially in flower. I run 70% warm (CMH 3100k + 3500k LEDs, can use HPS here) + 30% cool (6500k LEDs + UVB tanning bulbs, can use MH here)

The new fancy bulbs and leds are all about mixing to get better spectrum coverage.
